I'm on LI but dream of moving to Florida. One day we'll get up and go, probably after the kids graduate high school. Hoping at least one of them might want to go to college down there!

Too far north! I don't want to be anywhere where there is even a REMOTE chance of snow.
Even in Florida- it would have to be south Florida for me..
I really don't want any winter at all.

We moved to a suburb of Dallas, which is North Texas. It gets cold in the winter, it can be 20’s in the mornings. We even had a tiny bit of snow flurries one day. The locals freak out; they love it. LOL. Then it gets ridiculously hot in the summer. I would prefer Florida weather, but this is where DH’s job opportunity was.

Texas was on my list too. I do think I'd like to live there.
I'd have to research the weather more though .
I really want to avoid cold.
I mean, I know Florida gets cool in the winter too and can be cold in winter for a few days here and there- that's why I wanted to go as far south as possible- like Cuba.. LOL

NJ and I want out nowChat Icon

I seriously considering FL, which, I always told my family, I would never ever move there.

I want to move to FL more and more each year. Especially this time of year when it’s rainy and still 45 degrees in the northeast. (I’m in MA - we were lucky enough to have snowflakes mixed in the past few days). I really feel like weather has a huge effect on mood and quality of life and I’m over it.

Lucky ducky, MA is where I wanted to be. We recently moved to central NJ.......more western NJ.

I remember you talking about relocation and MA. I assumed that’s where you were, didn’t realize you landed in NJ.

It wasn't for lack of trying., LOL My DH was offered a really great job promotion and we couldn't say no so here we are in NJ. Chat Icon

I also remember you talking about a possible move to MA! I think we might have even talked about towns briefly. How do you like NJ?

We moved to Tewksbury, NJ, it's more rural and quiet than LI. It's very pretty here, similar to places that we were looking at in MA and CT. Lots of nature, hiking, rivers, parks....... Very peaceful. Unfortunately, two weeks after moving into our house tbe virus hit so we haven't had a chance to really get to know the area much and my kids were only in their new schools for two weeks. Looking forward to enjoying the area more when this is over but so far, it seems nice. I love my house, I definitely don't miss the LI traffic but I do still long for New England so I'm not sure NJ will be our last stop. But so far, so good. Thanks for asking. Chat Icon

Same, I want Arizona or Texas. I have a medical condition so I cant take the cold and I hate it here in NY. Can't move due to DH job but I can't wait to retire!

Where do you currently live?

NC (on Lake Norman about 1/2hr north of Charlotte). Absolutely love it here. The weather, the people... perfect! We actually have been having a spring this year. Hot as hell in the summer lasting from May-Oct. Mild winters. Food is still hit or miss, but that’s expected. It’s not NY.
