where do you get your free credit report from??
every website I am going to wants a credit card.. is that normal? It says it wont be charged until the free trial period is over but I dont even want a trial period, I just want me report and score.

annualcreditreport.com
No credit card needed, but only for your report.
If you want a score to go with it, you'll have to pay.
I also use myfico.com, but it's not free...probably about $15 for score and report. It's a great site to help understand credit.

go directly to each of the 3 reporting websites. Experian, Transunion & Equifax. Dont go to any other sites like freecreditreport.com, they all sell your information to third parties and you will start getting a ton of solicitations. You are entitled to 1 report/yr per agency so I usually check a different agency every 4 months, that way you are checking more often then once/yr but still staying w/in the right to one per year per agency.
