Where do you shop for groceries?

Another installation of this ever recurring topic!

Here's my favorites:

- Stop and Shop: They're middle of the road, but they have the best selection, especially if you're near a newer one. I don't get meat there unless they have chicken breast less than $1.99/lb.
- Compare Foods: 90% ground beef $1.99/lb regularly? Yeah, I think so. Also their regular prices on Boar's Head cold cuts are usually better than S&S's sales prices, and their produce is pretty cheap too.
- Trader Joe's: This place is snack heaven. I wish it was closer and not near Smithhaven :(
- Shoprite: It's Pathmark but not ghetto. Again, I wish it was closer, but they may be opening one up real close to where I live.
- Target: Their prices usually can't be beat on
what they have, but they have a small selection of groceries.

Dislikes:
- Waldbaum's: You have to shop by sales here. Getting anything regular price here is murder.
- King Kullen: At least Waldbaum's has good sales. Sure, KK doubles $1 coupons, but they never have good sales. With a S&S nearby, they take KK's $10 coupons and that negates the need to go to KK.

Stop & Shop mostly, we go to meat farms for out meats

Super Wal-Mart and trader joes

I can work to Waldbaums- but they stink and are $$$$ I only buy what is on sale

Stop and Shop - closest to me, best prices overall, but I rarely buy meat there unless it's a good price.

BJ's - buy most of my meat here since it's good quality and good prices.

Fairway - once a month I go here for certain items like organic, vegan or specialty stuff like olives and cheese.

Target - great for snack items and cereal.

Don't go to

Pathmark - always dirty and gross
King Kullen and/or Waldbaums - I think they are both expensive
Shoprite - there's none near me
Meat Farms - also dirty and gross
Trader Joes - there's none near me and I can get the same stuff at Fairway.

If there were a TJ's nearer to me, I would become a more frequent shopper as I do like most of their products.

Fairway-love that they have gourmet and organic. Love their produce and meats

Shoprite-generally everything is good there and I like the prices. Clean store and family owned.

KK for quick run. They are overpriced and I would never buy produce there.

Walbaums. I live down the block from one so its just convenient for me.

Shop-Rite - I love the one where I live.

For gourmet/specialty type stuff I go to a small gourmet shop that's in my town.

Once in a blue moon - Whole Foods

I used to make fun of my mom for this, but now I do it
since I never shop with an urgent need of anything, I usually stock up on whatever's on sale at these stores.
and then treat myself to a few things to counteract the coupons I use.

I to to IGA or Trader Joes for all our meats and cold cuts.
I pick up some snacks in Trader Joes as well.

Everything else I go to Target or Stop & Shop.

I don't shop in King Kullen. I think it's way too $$$.
Im not a fan of Pathmark or Waldbaums either.

My main shopping is done at Shop Rite - it's the closest and most reasonably priced in my area.

I also do a lot of shopping at BJs.

I will go to A&P or Stop and Shop if they are having a good sale. Normally - their prices don't compare to Shop Rite though.

Stop and Shop, because its up the block and close.

We also do a lot of "food" shopping at Target when we are there because sometimes its just cheaper!

And Costco, for certan things, especially when we are having company.

I usually shop at 2 stores -

Best Yet - their prices on produce are so much better than the other stores..

and whoever has what I need the most on sale...either Stop & Shop, Pathmark or Waldbaums

then there is the once amonth shopping at Sam's.

Whole Foods for my organic/natural foods
Target for the things like soda & snacks- they are usually cheaper
BJ's once a month to buy bulk items

Pathmark - you cant beat the prices IMO.

Shoprite. Love their prices. Can't beat them anywhere. At least I can't. I check the circular every week and write my list according to what;'s on sale. I try to plan my menus around the sales. I also use as many coupons as i can from Sundays circulars.

since moving to NJ we have much less of a choice and the quality of produce in middlesex co isnt the best.

we go to stop and shop
the only other local grocery is the a&p and they're not good at all
we go to some produce stores, but sometimes their quality isnt good either

Wherever I get the best price. I am mostly a sale shopper.

I do my weekly food shopping at
Stop & Shop...They have the best prices & biggest selection. I do not buy meat or produce here.

I do hit up BJ's monthly for bulk items we use

Also shop the sale circulars & will go to Pathmark or King Kullen if items are on a good sale.

All meats (except chicken) are purchased at John's Farms along with produce & fruit. We also get all out cold cuts here, best prices in town.

Stop & Shop for main staples

BJs for meats (S&S is super expensive - although I try to buy organic)

we go to the farmstands for veggies (I want to do a CSA next year) and during the winter I get from Bjs)
