Where does DC play?
If you dont have a playroom?
We have a rather open floor plan in my house, but as of now, DS and all his toys play in our living room...we have hardwood floors, so we have the ABC foam mats in here and his toys..
But I feel like it is a mess in here all the time (I have issues ), so I wonder if there is another way?
TIA!

Re: Where does DC play?
We dont have a playroom yet..(DH has to finish the basement)...The kids keep their toys in their rooms. Then they only bring out what they are going to play with.
Caden, b/c he doesnt have a room yet, has a corner in the livingroom with his toys in it. When his room is finished, within the next couple of months, the toys will go in there. We'll just take out some toys for him to play with during the day...

EVERYWHERE! Most of his toys are in the living room, but he will happily play anywhere. He doesn't need toys. One of his favorite games is watching himself dance in the stainless steel kitchen garbage can! Loves it!

Re: Where does DC play?
How funny ... I have a room that we keep his toys in but I covet your LR. I do! Most of the time we drag his toys out to the living room because the tv is there and also because it's easier to keep an eye on him.
That other room isn't used nearly as much as it should be.
I am in love with baskets...I have a bunch and put his toys in there. Part of the play for him is tearing through them. When he's done we scoop all the toys up, dump them in the baskets and put away.

In the LR, in our bedroom, or the basement. At night, I just put them all in his toy box next to the TV.

Re: Where does DC play?
DD plays in the livingroom- i have two big baskets in there- one for toys one for books. I switch out the toys every 2 weeks so she has something "new"- in her room I have a gigantic toy chest that my dad made... so I keep all the toy overflow in there. it isn't the best solution- but it's what we can do now b/c we don't have a play room. anway- she's too young i think to be off in a room by herself- so I prefer this even though it looks messy

I think when they get older maybe that will come in handy, KWIM?
I need to figure out some storage in his room, STAT!

Re: Where does DC play?
Mostly in the living room, I have to block off the area in front of the sectional with the ottoman because we still have no bannister to put a gate up! Oh and she can actually go up the stairs now!! I try to get her to play in her room and put the gate at the top of the stairs, but she's more interested in sneaking into Nicholas' room to play with his stuff A lot of her toys are in the backroom, but when we go in there, she wants all the DVD's!

Re: Where does DC play?
DS's toys are in the den which has become his playroom. However we end up bringing some toys into the LR, which is right next to the den separated by glass doors, because it's bigger and easier to watch him play. He'll often crawl over to the glass doors and look at his toys. So cute!

Re: Where does DC play?
DS has toys in the living room and in his room but he mostly plays in the living room. I have tile floors and used to have the foam mat down but he used to pick it up before he learned to walk.

Re: Where does DC play?
Living room and sometimes the den downstairs for a change of scenery. I have a toy box in both rooms, but there are still toys everywhere. I've come to realize that for the next 10 years I don't have a living room

Re: Where does DC play?
Everywhere.
In the living room I have: Bin with toys Exercauser Crawl through toy Singing Stage Baby Grand Piano Play Mat
We treat this as our "Curves Gym" and he goes around from station to station. I put out and take the things away about 3 times a day.
My office is now office/playroom. We have an area rug in here and the foam mats. In here I have the Learning Home, the Jumperoo, Learning Table, and three bins filled with toys that he takes out.
Then, of course - his bedroom has a toychest in it, and another toy bin - and toys that we play with - either before bed - or when I'm folding laundry.

Re: Where does DC play?
Welcome to my house We have an open floor plan too and no basement or playroom. Her toys are all over the family room and most are stacked up on the fireplace so she doesn't climb on it. Not very attractive but we have no other choice.
