Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

Bassinett next my bed, but he didn't like it in there in the beginning. I really had to make him sleep in it, even though it meant I got less sleep sometimes.

Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

After 4 weeks of NO sleep I was at my wits end. I wasn on the verge of a breakdown. Alexa would not sleep ANYWHERE......

I put her in bed with us and she slept 5 hours straight that nightChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

SO............................ needless to say she is in bed with us...

I'm not thrilled with it but we both DESPERATELY needed sleep and she's had it rough since she was born with teh reflux so if this is what will make her sleep then so be it...

She does nap in her swing and I'm working on getting her to nap in the crib.

HOpefully when she is a little older and the reflux is under better control and she is feeling better I'll transition her out of our bed!

Don't feel bad.

My son will not go anywhere near his crib. It is either his swing or on my chest.Chat Icon

We've swaddled him, tried 2 different types of sleep positioners, cd with white noise, and nothing works! We're lucky to get 10 minutes in the co-sleeper.Chat Icon But when he's with us we get a few hrs at a time!

Both my girls slept for the first 3-4 mos. in our room in a basinette.

I remember with my older DD, when she woke up to eat around 5 or 6am, we would put her in our bed and all sleep together for another two hours or so. I was super-conscious not to do this past two or three months though because I didn't want to create a situation I couldn't get out of. I wouldn't stress about it at his age though...

In bed with me. He is usually attached to the boob half the night.
DD was in bed with us as well but she needed to sleep in the crook of my arm. She transferred fine to her crib at 6 months. I'm hoping the same will happen with Hudson.

Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

In the first few weeks Emerson HATED the bassinet. The only place she wanted to sleep was on our chests so early on we spent many a night on the couch sleeping with her sleeping on our chest. It was the only way for either of us to get some sleep. Eventually she was able to sleep in the bassinet but only if she was inside of her Newborn to Toddler Rocker seat. Then by 2 months she was exclusively in the bassinet and at 3 months we moved her to her crib with no problem. IMO.......do whatever you need to early on to get them to sleep and stay asleep. Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

My son is 9 months old and will not sleep in bed with anyone. He slept in a bassinet until he outgrew it. Now he sleeps in a crib in his room. He slept very poorly when he slept in a crib our room. My husbands snoring kept waking him up. Chat Icon

Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

Ryleigh slept in her bassinet in our room until a few days ago. We started her in the crib 2 nights ago. She's not sleeping nearly as well as she used to, but we figure there's got to be an adjustment period.

If your DS is only 6 weeks old, you may want to try a new routine now (maybe on a weekend?) before it becomes too ingrained. You don't want to be holding a 6 month old all night!

In a cradle by my bed. Cradles are bigger than bassinets, so I kept him there for a good 5 months. So convenient since I BF

Cradle next to the bed, it's a big one, he also sleeps in the bed with us in the morning if he wakes up before the sun is up for a couple of hours, he's 4 1/2 months.

DD sleeps in the bassinet next to our bed. We will transition her to sleep in her crib in 3-4 months.

Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

Until 11 weeks he slept comfortably in the bassinett part of the PNP in our room.

From 11 weeks until 7 months I coslept. Then at 7 months I transferred him to his crib.

always in the crib at night. during the day, usually on me then i transfer her to the boppy and keep her on couch. she is temperamental with the swing, and will sleep there occassionally.

Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

My DD like many others didn't want to sleep anywhere except in our arms for the first 6-8 weeks.. We tried the bassinet and she would just cry every time we put her down then we put her in the bassinet portion of the pack and play and she would only nap in there never sleep at night, until we figured out that she only wanted her bottom portion to be swaddled she needed her hands to be free but to feel warm comfy and cosy from her chest down. That might be something you want to try.

Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

in her crib at night and during some of her daytime naps. I don't like that she's in her crib alot (she likes to sleep after she eats during the day). So sometimes I put her in her swing. However, she doesn't sleep nearly as well or long in the swing.

Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

DS slept in my arms for the first 3+ months. We tried so many things to get him into the crib and bassinet part of the PNP and nothing worked. We've been trying to transition him into the crib, but it has been extremely difficult.

Bassinet next to our bed until 3 months, then converted DD to her crib in her own room.

She's been sleeping in her crib at night since we brought her home. During the day, she naps in the pack and play which is in our living room. She will nap in the swing sometimes, but I don't think she really likes to. She prefers to be still when she sleeps I think.

Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

As a newborn she slept in her bassinett right next to my bed. When I tried to transition her to the crib (4.5 months), she started sleeping in bed with me.

Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

For the first week she was home, she slept in her swing...it was too hard for me to reach down into her bassinette after my c-section. After one week, she began sleeping in the bassinette exclusively. I am hoping her transition to the crib in a few weeks goes well.

Re: Where does/did your NB sleep?

We kept both DC in their own room from day 1. That way, at least one of us could get some sleep each night. On weekends, when it was my "midnight feeding" duty, I would either keep the monitor next to me on a very low volume, or stay up late watching TV. This way, DW could sleep.
