Where in the carribbean should I go?????
I've never been to the carribean so for my birthday DH wants me to plan a trip for a week in May.
Here are the choices
Bahamas
Cancun
Puerto Rico
Please share with me your caribbean experiences and recommend hotels.

If your birthday's around spring break I would avoid Cancun. Puerto Rico's very nice but one of the more populated islands. My vote would be for the Bahamas.

I have been to all three locations. I would definitely pick Cancun first, then Bahamas second, and Puerto Rico third. However, I would really consider checking out Barbados or Turks and Caicos instead.

Trunk Bay in St. John's, it is the most amazing beach in the world.
Aruba was great too (can't wait to get back there!)

i agree. spring break for college kids or school kids is crazy. i went to cancun in april during that and i would not go that time again. i went to puerto rico the first weekend in may a couple of years ago for a 4 day weekend and most of the time it was empty.

I would personally say Cancun. There's tons to do and it will be the most affordable of the bunch. You can either do a regular hotel or there are tons of beautiful all-inclusive resorts to choose from.

of the three choices I would recommend Pueto Rico beautiful beaches, nightlife and restaurants.
If you are open to other options I would say Caymen Islands or if you really want an adventure take a cruise that leaves out of NY and visit several islands.
BTW- you are totally lucky Enjoy which ever island go to

I'd rule out the Bahamas right away—beaches are okay, but it's just eh. I actually love BARBADOS!

I have been to all 3. I liked Bahamas the best. PR we went on a cruise, Cancun we did an all inclusive that was horrible and Bahamas I went with my sister a few years back. I liked Bahamas the best, thats why I am going to bahamas in Feb.

First choice :Puerto Rico was lots of fun.
stayed at San Juan hotel (on the beach, lots of fun, club on site. The Wyndham (not on the beach) walk to it.
and The Ritz on the beach (great for couples, romantic)
Bahamas was nice too. stayed at the Atlantis.
3.Cancun (went years ago when single. Lots of fun.

Been to Bahamas and Puerto Rico. Would go to the Bahamas.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Bermuda though and would pick that over the 2 anyday.
