Where is the Free Mulch/Soil/Compost??
Where are the dumps with the free mulch/soil/compost? i think brookhaven has one but only for residents? does anyone know? I am in town of babylon. does this town offer one? my gf was talkng about it today and i said, i rememeber there being something on the li board about that.

Don't know but we got free mulch one year and they dumped SO much it was ridiculous!!

town of brookhaven sends out all the info a couple of times a year but I'm sure if you called the town of babylon town hall or the dump they could tell you.

What FREE soil? I did not know that. We could definently use some soil to level out our backyard.

I don't know anything about free soil, from any town. But if you're doing a lot of leveling, can you use "fill" and then put soil on top? Because CraigsList's Free board always has notices for free fill.
Best thing to do is call up your sanitation dept to see what they have. You can't go to another town's dump for free stuff unless you go with a town resident.

just called the Town now they gave me the Highway dispatch Dept.
631-957-4242 for the free top soil, mulch, etc.
