Where should I look for nice dining chairs?

Where should I look for nice dining chairs?
My dining area is 9 x 9 (maybe a little smaller) and I have a beautiful gate legged drop leaf table that I can leave for just the two of us but then extends for 6 people. So, I thought instead of buying a new dining set, I would just get chairs and when the whole house is done (and I need furniture for every room) I would then go and get a new dining table to go with the chairs I buy.
or do you think I should just get a whole new set?
Opinions please?

There is a place in Huntington Station called The Chairman on 110 just north of Jericho

We just bought our dining room set from "Tiffany's Furniture" on Rt. 110. They have a great selection and as far as I know you can just buy the chairs. It's next to Raymour & Flanigan.
