Where to get a great tasting cake?
Looking for suggestions to get a birthday cake. Not super concerned with designs etc, more concerned with it tasting great! I am in Merrick, but don't mind driving 15-20 minutes in any direction. TIA!

If in Nassau, go to dortonis. If in Suffolk, go to Audrey's. these are my go to bakeries!

I agree with the above...
Dortoni's is AWESOME!!!!! We had our wedding cake from there and almost any other cake we need.
If Dortoni's doesn't work out, then go over to the Cake Gallery in Bellmore. They are AMAZING and probably a little cheaper. They are ALWAYS our back up.

As I bake, I am very picky about cakes. If they are not made with butter, I won't eat them. Too many bakeries use crisco as their shortening and their cakes taste like it.

If you are not worried about design then Stop & Shop! The S & S with the inhouse bakeries, sooo good! Also Costco has delicious sheet cakes!

My favorite bakery is Butter Cookie in Floral Park but that my be a little out of your way.
I also love Front Street bakery in Rockville Centre.
