Where to get the best "fake" tree?
I've sworn all my life that I would NEVER get a fake Christmas Tree, but the thought of having to take care of one more thing by myself these days it just too daunting.
I really want a nice one that looks like a real tree. And we have 12 foot ceilings, so it can be big and tall.
Anyone have one or seen one they love?
I'm a little heartbroken over this, which I know seems stupid, but it needs to be done.
TIA!!

Re: Where to get the best "fake" tree?
We got our pre-lit, fake tree at KMart 4 years ago, and DH, who is generally against fake trees, can't bring himself to toss it because it looks so good when it's all decorated. I don't remember if it's a Martha Stewart or not, but they had a really good selection.

Re: Where to get the best "fake" tree?
Costco and BJ's sell gorgeous trees at great prices - my parents is so big, full, beautiful, pre-lit and people always compliment it. I love how it stands so straight and you can put just about any ornament on it -- it doesn't shed or anything which is nice.
I'm sorry your sad about getting an artificial tree. I actually have always felt the opposite - I have always wanted and have had an artificial tree. I just don't see the need in having a tree cut down just so it can die in a few weeks and go in the garbage.
Maybe try to think of it like that to make you feel better?
It'll cost less in the long-run b/c you don't have to buy one each year!

Re: Where to get the best "fake" tree?
We got ours at Home Depot. It's more about the brand of the tree than who sells it though... But I can't help much more than that

Well, if you want to shop in the comfort of your own home, QVC has some really nice trees in the Bethlehem Lights series. A little pricey but I hear the quality is great and they will last forever. (I swear I don't work for QVC! )

Re: Where to get the best "fake" tree?
I am also a lover of the "real" christmas tree.
if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't try to get a most real looking fake tree....but the do a 180 and get something cool looking and different like this
my reasoning is this...one you spend the $$ to get a good looking fake tree, I'd feel guilty "wasting" the money next year or the year after getting a real one when I have one already that I spent money on that "looks so real"
by getting something like this and decorating it super FAB! I can go for the real tree again when I am ready and STILL use this one in another room (or perhaps even outside)
the won't compete with each other, and they each serve a purpose.
to have that smell of pine in my house, I would also get a real wreath.
good luck!

Re: Where to get the best "fake" tree?
We got one at Fortunoff. I think we got it on sale before Christmas.
ETA: Frontgate probably has comparable trees to Fortunoff and they'll deliver them to your home!
Hey, you can always do 2 trees down the road! One real and one fake!

funny you should post this- we're going fake, white tree this year.
I've been a huge real tree fan- but there's something about putting a tree up on December 1st, and then going through the Advent calendar with DD that I think will be so much fun. This isn't something you can do with a real tree.
Plus- this year Santa is taking all the pacifiers for the new babies- so I figured to work up to this idea- better to have the tree up the full 24 days KWIM?
Don't feel sad about the fake tree- I know so many people SWEAR by theirs- my girlfriend never even undoes hers- but puts hers in the attic decorated!!!!!

Believe it or not Ace Hardware has some!
Don't know where you are, but Laura's Floral Elegance on Jericho in East Northport/Huntington area is pricey but has the most realistic looking trees.
