Where to go for a 3 night getaway
We are supposed to go away next Sun, and haven't booked anything yet. Where would you drive to if you had the choice?

Greenport/Shelter Island
Maybe drive to Orient, get my car on the ferry across to New London and drive the rest of the way to Cape Cod (not sure how far you are from Orient Pt, but it's about 2 hrs from New London to the Cape)

my sister just got back from Lake George and absolutely loved it there. They stayed at the Sagamore.

Niagara Falls. We went there in September with DH a few years ago.
It was great and not that crowded! Great weather too.
1 hour flight to Buffalo. Took a rental car. 30 minute ride to the Falls. We stayed in the Canadian side.
I would love to go back.

Cape May, NJ
OMG!!!! I had the greatest time in both places! I swear you will absolutely love both places. I went to Newport last summer and to Cape May last week. I can't wait to go back. There's a lot to do in both locations. Cape May is the most beautiful victorian town in the US and Newport has so many gorgeous mansions you can visit. Both places by the water, great restaurants, great shopping. Let me know if you decide to go. I have some excellent places to recommend to you for your stay
