Which baby "play" items are necessary?

I registered for a:
Bouncer
Swing
floor play gym
stationary entertainer...

Now, we don't have a huge house- just wondering if there is something I have on there that is not needed- they all look cute and have different purposes- but I don't want to take up unnecessary room...

Thanks!

some of the stationary entertainers bounce, not by much but they do.. I got the circus one and the seat bounced up and down... I also had the rainforest bouncer and I think my son was in it a total of 10 times... he liked the stationary one better because he could spin around and stand...

But it is a personal choice.. some babies dont like either and some like both.. If I had to do it all over again I would only get the stationary one ....

But I would make sure you register for the swing... life saver... and the floor mat for belly time and playtime ... most floor mats fold easy..

they are all good but of them, the floor gym is probably the least necessary. you can put your LO down on a blanket and can hold toys up for him/her.

exersaucer, best invention.
we used to call it the wheel of neglect, because we could leave DD in there for so long without her getting bored.

Maybe not a true item, but we can't live without out FP soothing seas ocean wonders aquarium.

It attaches to the cribs and plays all sorts of music and also has the sound of running water. It really entertains DS when he is in his crib and the sound of water soothes him to sleep at night.

The playmat/gymini and a basic mirror have been such a blessing. The swing has also provided many LONG naps.

OMFrigginG-YES!!!! I always felt so guilty that I got so much free time while she happily played awayChat Icon

I also swear by the Tiny Love Symphony in Lights mobile. It's ugly as hell- but it goes for like 30 minutes at a time, has a soft night light so she could see it in the dark, and was like baby crack until I had to take it down when she started standing.....

OMG! We have the old school version of this and can't live without it. My DD is 2-years-old and puts it on before she falls asleep at her nap & after she wakes up. The same for at night it's on before she goes to sleep and when she wakes up in the middle of the night or in the morning. My only beef is that it only last for 2 minutes without her having to turn it back on and mine only runs on batteries (I am not sure if they have changed those 2 features). Honestly, the machine gets at least 1 hour of play in my house daily.

Re: Which baby "play" items are necessary?

We have a swing and DS loves it. It has 5 speeds and soothing music. It also has the heartbeat sound. He gets mad when the sound shuts off. The swing is such a life saver. The swing also closes together so it doesnt take up much space when closed.

DS also has the Boppy Cradle In Comfort Bouncer. It vibrates and plays soothing music.

The bouncer and swing have the same purposes. They both have motion and both have music. DS loves both. Though their are some days he does prefer one over the other.

The floor play gym not necessary. i thought it was and really all it does is the same thing you could do with a blanket (and a lot less). You could just use a blanket and play on the floor with the baby and toys. DS is almost 2 months old and we use his blanket to do tummy time and have no problems at all.
