Which cereal first?
The ped told us that rice cereal constipates and since Megan has problems with that, he said we could skip and start with another. I could have sworn he said oatmeal and then barley..but my mom says she would think barley would be first. Anyone know?

Oatmeal then barley but I was told that barley tends to cause constipation. You can do oatmeal and then the combo cereal. Use one cereal for one week and if everything is okay, then you can switch them up.

My MD didn't tell me which one to start with, but he did want DS to stay on the cereal for several days before switching in order to be sure there are no allergies.
We started with the rice, and DS had no issues with constipation, but every baby is different (does your DS currently have an issue with constipation?)

we did oatmeal and oatmeal only.
Rice gave her gas and since she liked oatmeal and it was easy for her, we stuck with it

The MD said I could start with any. I did Rice (he hated it), quickly went to Oatmeal and just recently went to Barley.

We started with rice, then oatmeal (he did not do well on it), then went to barley. Now I give him just rice and barley mixed together. I mix them together b/c rice constipates him, but the barley makes him go so by mixing them, it keeps him regular.

We started on oatmeal and stayed with it. DD is prone to constipation too

I started with Oatmeal, then Rice, then Barley. The rice def made her constipated so I stopped giving it to her. Typically we do Oatmeal for breakfast and Barley for dinner. I can't wait to see if Megan likes the solids! Good luck!!

Oatmeal has been wonderful for Ava, so we never even bothered with Barley. The rice, she had a reaction to.

I never even tried barley. Did rice for a little bit and then switched to oatmeal. He seems to like it better, so I just stuck with it.

I stayed away from rice, DD only went once and day and I didn't want it to bind her. Started with oatmeal.
