which Disney park?
We're leaving Saturday for Florida (YAY) and we're still on the fence which parh we shoud do. We were thinking of doing Magic Kingdom again, but after taking DS to Sesame Place yesterday, I see that he's not really into rides this year. He was afraid of a lot of things, which is odd because he LOVED Sesame Place and Disney last year. So do you think we should try Animal Kingdom, Epcot or Hollywood Studios?

I say Magic Kingdom. Epcot is not really for little ones. I always enjoyed it more as I got older. Animal Kingdom was ok. If not MK then I would go with Hollywood Studios. Have a GREAT trip!!!............I am SO jealous!!

Magic Kingdom...it's not really known for rides. I think it's the best of all the theme park. JMHO

I feel like we did almost all rides with him last year at MK. I would have been fine to do the same stuff this year, but I'm worried he's just not going to enjoy it. I'm kind of thinking that if we're going to do mostly shows and parades, that Hollywood Studios may be the way to go. I know he'll love the Playhouse Disney Show, Buzz Lightyear, Fantasmic, etc..

Re: which Disney park?
I would try typhoon lagoon for the kiddy water park and lazy river. DS loved the lazy river and the kiddy water park. He also liked the Animal Kingdom.
I think MGM is really for teens and older. Depending upon the age of DC I would go to the Mickey and Mini area in the Magic Kingdom. We went when DS was 11 months and he liked that area too.

Our timeshare has a small water park with a splash area, lazy river and a couple of slides, so I don't think we'll do water parks until he's old enough to enjoy Wet N Wild. Last summer when DS was 20 months he absolutely ADORED MG and the area you're talking about.

Re: which Disney park?
I would say not Hollywood Studios if I had to pick..My DS was 2.5 and there was very little there for him to enjoy at his age...Now , at 3.5, he would enjoy it more...
Animal Kingdom is a bit more small scale, maybe that would be a good starter, but honestly MK , you cany go wrong with ! And in Mickeys part there is so much free play areas if hes not into rides

Re: which Disney park?
Well it is a tough call. DD was 15 months when we went and she LOVED EPCOT. There are a few rides but there are also other things to do there if your DC is not a ride person. DD loved walking around living with the seas and looking at the fish, there is turtle talk with crush there too - which is an interactive show. She loved running in the interactive fountains and looking around in the different countries. There are characters around the park and shows and performances in various areas (china had acrobats), story time in others, bands in other countries. So there are several things to keep them busy. The countries also have a craft table for children where they can color masks etc depending on the country. Yes EPCOT has a lot of adult items but it can be fun for kids too depending on what you choose to see and do.
DD really didn't care for MGM (now HS) - I would say unless your child sits quietly for shows or will do the rides then it may or may not be the place for you. If he likes playhouse disney, muppets etc and will sit for longer shows then I would probably say HS is your better choice - b/c it is mainly shows more so than rides for his age group.
AK is great and DD loved it - but it is largely a zoo - for younger kids since they aren't big enough for the larger rides. If he likes animals then he would probably enjoy the safari and the rest of the park.

Re: which Disney park?
We are going right after you and also staying at our timeshare. My thoughts- We go in jan as well so that is when I go to MK. There is NO WAY my dd at 2 is standing on MK's lines for 2 hrs...not happening... Animal kingdom is just WAY too hot! Too much open space. MGM...eh' a lil' boring. I am taking her to epcot for sure 1) we are going to have a great dinner at one of the countries 2) they have a nemo ride/figment ride/earth ride/land ride 3) they have the character spots There wont really be lines like MK
Aside from that I feel the same way about seaworld in the summer. Its shows so basically you arent sitting on line for 2 hrs in the heat.
You've done downtown disney, right? They just opened T-rex.
some additional things to do... mall of millenia old town 2 outlets city walk (we do movie and a meal)

We went to Fulton's Crab House last summer and are thinking of going there again. We will definitely do Downtown Disney at night and for shopping. We always do a trip to Old Town (even though DH hates it ), and we'll definitely be doing some outlet shopping. As you know, I bought tickets to Arabian Nights. And we're actually thinking about doing a day trip to Fort Myers area and do a beach day.
