which do you prefer: madeline jane or natalie jane?
Now that we know our little one is a girl, it's time to settle on her name. Madeline and Natalie are our top two. Hubby prefers Natalie. I like Natalie, but don't like Nat as a nn. If you prefer Natalie, do you like nattie or talie as a nn? Do you think people would just eventually call her Nat?
Other suggestions are welcome. Big sisters are Lilah and Camryn.

All my Natalie friends are called nat but then again it tend to cut all names down to the first syllable

My daughter's name is Natalie and we call her Nat or Nana...in fact, she thinks her name is Nana but she's only 21 months old. I just love Natalie. I would expect later on, that she will mostly be Nat and I'm okay with that.

Just something i noticed with family... people will call them what you call them. My sister agreed to name her son James after his father as long as people called him James and not Jim or Jimmy like they do my BIL... The reason we call him James is because they do... hes so not a Jimmy or Jim so unless he decides later on he wants to be called Jimmy or Jim then he will be James.
I like both names...

Madeline is my favorite. A Natalie could definitely avoid Nat if she wants to. I know a Jessica who is never anything else becuase she flat out tells people not to call her that. If you ask people not to use a certain nn as a child I'm sure it will stick. No one calls DD by her obvious nn becuase DH hates it and told them not to.

I love Natalie!!! I agree with a pp about people calling her what you guys call her. I think Lee is a cute nickname for Natalie if you don't like Nat.

Ha! That's awesome. We have similar taste :)
We decided to go with Madelyn Jane! Hubby agreed to my preference on the name but asked for the slightly different spelling, and.I didn't have a strong preference for spelling. For nn spelling, any thoughts on Maddie vs Maddy?

I figure whichever way I spell the nn, she will choose the spelling of it however she likes best as she gets older. It's not the name on her birth cert. We'll see how it goes.
I think mads and madster are adorable, but I probably won't call her that. I call my Camryn cams and camster (and camster the hamster)! That would be too similar :)

Ok so I'm biased lol I put Madelyn on my list of names but spelled with the lyn at the end instead of line so I definitely like Madelyn Jane more than the Natalie ....such a pretty name!
