Which ErgoBaby Carrier would you get?
I see the original, the organic and some other variations. Wondering which one is best. Also wondering if the infant insert is really necessary. TIA!

I would get whichever is cheapest All of the Ergos are good for the baby, so I think it's up to you. I am a first timer, but my girlfriend said she never used the infant insert. I guess it depends on how early on and how much you plan on using it. If you walk a lot, it might be worth it.

I like the Ergo sport. I would pass on the infant insert and get a Moby instead. The moby has more options for different carries and is very comfortable.

Re: Which ErgoBaby Carrier would you get?
so I literally just back from the store to look at these. They had a bunch out. The newest and most expensive one is their performance one. It is by far the lightest material. It seems to be the best option b/c of the material.
I have a huge belly right, haha, so I couldn't try it on. Dh tried it on. We are on the heavier side, not huge, not skinny, and for him the hip belt was at the end and he said it felt tight. I have to wait a bit to see how it fits me. I have wide hips to start, and after baby #2 who knows.
I suggest finding a store that carries them and try them

Just an FYI- They sell a waist extension clip so if it's tight on the largest setting, that is an option.
I purchased my Ergo in 2007 for my DS. This was the most comfortable carrier at that time. There wasn't as much available and I had to order directly from Ergo's website. I am currently using it for DD. It is a great carrier.
I have the older insert and I was never able to figure out how to make it work. I prefer the Moby wrap when they're newborns.
I switched DS to the Ergo at 3 months; DD was a little over 4 months. She was a smaller baby. DS was very big. He was over 22 lbs by the time he was 6 months old and I was always comfortable carrying him in the Ergo. I even carried him sporadically in it after he was 1.
