Re: which LIRR station is closest to Eisenhower Park?
I want to say Hicksville, but I'm not 100% sure on that. My best friend lives very close to the park and if she takes a train, she takes Hicksville, so that's what I'm thinking.

Def not Hicksville...
Its Westbury Train Station, but its not hte nicest... Where is your friend coming from?
You can go to Mineola or Carle Place... if your friend is coming from the Hicksville Area then I say go to hicksville...
More trains stop at Mineola and Hicksville then Carle Place and Westbury, but Westbury is def the closest, even walking distance less then 1/2 a mile.

Yup, for the concert
Thanks - I was thinking Westbury but wasn't 100% sure. I don't kind if its not so nice. The neighborhood I live in isn't very nice so I'm sure I'll be fine!
DH is picking me up, driving from Queens. I'm taking the LIRR from Penn because of work.

take the damn train to mineola and quit whining. most options, and close enough (i'd guesstimate 2 miles... but i suck at guesstimating).

Re: which LIRR station is closest to Eisenhower Park?
Westbury is right down the street from Eisenhower park. The station is post ave from there you take post ave south and the park is right across old country rd. carle place is not far either lets off by cherry lane which is also right off old country road. Hicksville is a little furthur away so is mineola

This is way more than 2 miles from Mineola train station. The park is a few miles from RFM and the train station is by Winthrop (another 1+ mile from RFM).
Hicksville is too far too to walk. You would need a taxi.

She isn't walking--her DH is picking her up.
Any of the above suggestions are fine, Mineola may be your best bet as the trains are more frequent and its totally on the way from Queens to Eisenhower Park.

Mineola is a hub so the most options. Since DH is getting you anyway I would do that.
Not every train goes to Westbury.
Check out the schedule and see what timing works best for you.

Re: which LIRR station is closest to Eisenhower Park?
Mineola is the most annoying farking train station in the world if you are getting picked up b/c the streets are one way there, but it's the closest. Carle Place is better, but the trains are few and far between.

Oh.. I missed that. If OP is picked up. Mineola. Annoying to get picked up with the streets layout but it's not farther like Hicksville and turning back around since this is passed the park.

Re: which LIRR station is closest to Eisenhower Park?
If I were you, I would go to the Merrick station. It's probably a little further, distance-wise, but a much easier pickup than the other stations mentioned. Then head north up Merrick Avenue to Hempstead Turnpike. The edge of Eisenhower is at the intersection of Merrick Ave. and Hempstead Turnpike.
Westbury probably is the closest station, though.

i agree about merrick, its on the babylon line so trains stop there all the time and its easy pickup, you just have to drive up merrick ave. for a bit.

The north side of the station isnt as bad- I just tell people to pick me up on the north side and I walk over the tracks (using the stairs lol)
ETA i'd do westbury since its right off the LIE and close to Eisenhower. Mineola isnt as close to the lie
