Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer/ Front loader..
DH and I where looking into buying these. Anyone have any Pros or Cons.
I think Whirlpool makes a very expensive Duet (More then 1k), but this is not the ones we where looking at. I think they each cost around $850.
I would love to get the LG, but can't swing almost 3k for a Washer and Dryer.

Danielle and I have them. We bought them at Jay's in Levittown on Hempstead tpke.
When we bought them they were running a sale, which they run every few weeks.
We bought the washer and basically after mail in rebates got the dryer for free.
It comes out to about $1700 in store but you get a little over $700 in rebates.

Re: Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer/ Front loader..
I got my front loader at Sears, it's a Kenmore - I hate it. It doesn't hold as much as the top loader even tho it is the largest capacity-wise. I hate that I can't start it WHILE I am loading it...and I am always dropping stuff as it goes in and as it goes out.

I have the LG Steam Washing Machine. Once nice washer. Also the LG Steam Washing Machine is the largest capacity washer on the market 4 cubic feet.

WE have them. got them from Sears when they were running a huge after X-mas sale a few years ago.
First, we presented them with lower prices I found on the internet, they matched them and then we got a rebate.
Love, love, love my washer and dryer. Much easier and more efficient than the top loaders and they use a lot more energy and spin the clothes a lot dryer.

ITA - can't say enough great things about these machines. They are so efficient and so quiet while being so!
Got ours at Lowe's.

We got ours at PC Richards. Got a good deal for both plus a fridge. I love them. Eventually we will get the pedestals. I can't bring myself to spend $200 or more for each one though at this moment. Im waiting for a sale to come around but haven't seen anything since we bought the w & d.

My advice...buy the pedestal to go underneath. The front loaders kill your back. Worth the extra $ to raise the machine up.

Totally agree. We weren't going to get them but Lowe's was running a 2 for 1 deal so we did...and I couldn't be happier.

Re: Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer/ Front loader..
We love ours, only issue I have is that you need to leave the washer door open after you use it, since I would always close it and ti gto funky near the seal where the water would collect and couldn't dry.
Once I read this I cleaned it and just leave it open for a bit and it has been fine.
Colleen - Lowe's had a sale on just the pedestals? You didn't need to buy the washer to get that sale? I really would like them but couldn't see spending the money on them.

I have the same issue - with leaving the door open. I don't see a funk - just an odor from it being wet inside.
Sorry, bought the pedestals with the w&d...and this was a year ago. Though I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to just go in and buy the pedestals. I've also seen/heard people building their own platform (which we were going to do until we saw the deal). You just need to make it really sturdy b/c the washing machine goes nuts during that spin cycle
