Re: Whitening your teeth while PG
I just checked on Baby Center and this is what they had to say about Bleaching (but they address over the counter stuff)
Is it safe to bleach my teeth during pregnancy?

At this time we don't have any evidence that bleaching your teeth will impose any significant risk to you or your baby. However, we don't have enough data to say it's safe, either. The peroxide used in bleaching causes an oxidative process and we know that oxidation can be harmful to tissues and cells. But we don't know whether that can affect either you or your baby. There's another whitening process called microabrasion that uses acidic components to remove stains, but we have even less data on the safety of that in pregnancy. So just to be on the safe side, I strongly recommend that women wait until after the pregnancy is over and they're done nursing to have their teeth bleached. And though there are various products you can get over the counter, I always advise patients to seek a dentist's advice first because tooth discoloration can be a sign of a larger problem (such as the death of the pulp tissue in the tooth) and a correct diagnosis can only be made by a dentist.

It's probably safe. The patient instructions don't say anything about pregnancy and I think most of the manufacturers would tell you it's safe. On the other hand, why take a chance when you're pregnant? Is it that important to get your teeth whitened? If a patient who was pregnant asked me to bleach her teeth, I would tell her to wait six months. If she really wanted it done, I'd suggest at least waiting until after the first trimester since that's when the baby is most susceptible to things.

Re: Whitening your teeth while PG
My sister is a Dental Hygenist and doesn't recommend the whitening of teeth during pregnancy - actually none of the doctors in her office do- i actually used the whitening strips before the pregnancy and loved them - but have since stopped since becoming pregnant - just to be safe - its not worth the risk even though it hasn't been clincially proven to do harm......
