Who else thinks its NUTS that Motherhood only allows you 10 days to exchange whatever you purchase...

and will only offer you store credit, no refunds?

I think their policy is a little too strict. If the tags are on the clothes, why can't you return something and get your money back? It's not like there will never be another pregnant woman who comes in to the store to purchase something?

I purchased a blouse and totally forgot that I had 10 days to exchange it, and tried to trade it for a larger size today, and because I didn't have the receipt they wouldn't take it. What am I supposed to do with a blouse that doesn't fit me?? Its' not like they didn't have it in the store, I saw it, and they had a bigger size and it was the same price as when I purchased it. GRRR!!!

I'm surprised they wouldn't let you exchange it for a larger size, but strict or not, that's their policy. I guess thats why they have you sign the receipt stating you understand it...

that's why i HATE buying stuff there.

can you buy the larger size and then return the smaller one with the newer receipt. I mean you will only get store credit but at least the shirt won't go to waste.

Thats not a bad idea!! Tell them you bought the shirt THINKING it was the larger size, but it was labeled wrong.

Thats why I try EVERYTHING on there before buying.....

I have to say I agree with you and think it's absolutely ridiculous. Especially being the type of store that it is - people have bought me so many gifts that were the wrong size and I have had such a hard time trying to return them.

I hate it too -- plus I had a problem with a pair of pants being sized wrong. They were supposed to be M but they were totally S -- what a waste!

Don't all the maternity stores (A Pea in the Pod, Mimi, Motherhood) have that same stupid policy? It sucks!

It sucks, but all retail stores have gotten stricter b/c people steal stuff and then try to return it. As always, good people get screwed b/c of idiots

i agree, they're way too strict... that's why i park myself there and try every single thing on (sometimes twice) before i buy it.

i also try to buy things that are on sale because if not the clothes are SO $$$$!

Not for nothing, but it makes sense to me...

The thing is, maternity clothes are not like regular clothes, where you buy something with the intention of wearing it for years... You may fit into certain things for only a few wks or a month or 2, and then if it doesnt fit, you are going to want to return it... They wont stay in business if they keep giving money back...

I could understand the 10 day policy to return merchandise but the EXCHANGE ONLY is the bad part. What if I change my mind tomorrow. The same clothes are in the store. It's not like I waited 90 days to return it.

They can run their business how they want. That's right! But that did not fit what I wanted.

they can look it up by your phone number the reciept. i returned pants there after 10 days. this is going way back maybe 2 years ago and they pulled it up by my number and gave me a store credit. i agree about the return policy being balony. i would shop at old navy, gap and stores that have better return policies. macys carries motherhood and doesnt have the same policy. also jcpenneys had good finds.

my favorite was kohls i would find stuff on the 70% off rack for 1.50 stocked up on 10 pairs of maternity shorts from s, m and large for baby #2 got them for 2 dollars each.
