Re: who has gone solar?
Posted by LIdad2
Hi everyone, this is my first post! My wife has had an account for years and was telling me about this thread so I had make an account for myself. I'm in the solar industry so I thought I could possibly be helpful. Because the industry is growing so fast there is an abundance of info out there and it can all be very overwhelming. Everyone can and will tell your their success or horror story (Horror is few and far between) and everyone will tell you the way you should go solar and who you need to use. Well, it's different for everyone so u need to figure out the best opttion for YOUR household. You really don't want to lease. It just doesn't make sense in the Northeast. So you are left with purchase or PPA. Again, both are good options depending on your situation and if you really take the time to understand both options. Most people have no idea what a PPA is nor what is actually involved with owning panels. The guy sitting at Home Depot or the mall does not have all the answers. Also, just because a company does a satellite image of your home doesn't mean you won't qualify. It means they are lazy and they won't qualify you. You want someone that will come out to the house first before discussing number of panels or savings or anything. Number of panels will vary by size of home, amount of shade, and how much electricity you currently consume from PSEG. There is no right or wrong number. This is very individualized. Please feel free to message me for any more info. The most important thing is one way or another, just go green.
Would love to hear what you take on EMF's are?!

Same. We worked with Marius, who was really thorough. When we did the math, it was silly NOT to go solar. We own the panels and are financing the payments.

If you are financing them what is roughly payment a month?
Totally depends on the number of panels. We have 18, and after rebates and credits, I think our monthly payment is $70.

There are many factors into what your payment would be as its based on how much electric you actually use, what direction your house is located in, etc..
My house has 26 panels but we love electric in our house.
There are many great companies here. I would do homework, compare and contrast them to ensure you have the right product and team. If you would like a resource, as an above poster said, we couldn't be happier with our choice.
