Who is is super excited for the next Steig Larsson book?
I can't wait- I pre-ordered from Amazon back in January!

No-unfortunately he died after the last one was written.
I had heard he also had almost all of a 4th book completed.. and outlines for a 5th and 6th in the series. It's been indicated that they may publish the 4th and rumor has it that although they may not make a book of the last ones - they might do movies if the American version of GWTDT does well at the box office.

I read an interview w/ his live-in girlfriend who said he had intended to have 10 books total in the series. She makes it sound like she had a lot to do w/ the books and I PRAY they don't go the VC Andrews route and have someone else "finish" any unfinished stories.

I'm part way through the 2nd book.....I probably will not read a new one if they have someone else finish it.....I dont think they are ever the same when they use another writer

i've read Hornets Nest already and it's really good!
I too have heard the rumors about potential 4th or 5th books that he started, but agree that if it is completed by someone else, it won't have the same tone as the originals. Although if he did practically finish the 4th one, it might.
I also saw the Swedish version of Girl with Dragon Tattoo movie, and it was excellent! The actress who plays Salander is just perfect.
I'm sure the American version will ruin the story though, as hollywood has a tendency to do that.
The swedes also have made the next 2 movies already but i'm not sure if they're out yet.

I'm about halfway through the third book- very good so far! Some of the "deep background" at the beginning was actually hard for me to get through- but it was definitely worth hanging in.
