who remembers the "bride" that used a Miss america pic?
does anyone remember that from around 2001-2002?? there will always be fakies no matter what we do, they've been on just about every forum i have ever belonged to. The ones that make up pics & stuff about themselves are not as scary to me as all the lurkers....who knows what they are thinking. People like Kate07 obviously just needed attention in real life, correct me if I'm wrong but she didn't really DO anything to anyone right? i missed the whole drama & i'm just reading along trying to catch up now.

Holy sh!t you are brilliant, how'd you find that pic so fast. Fakies like that are LEGENDARY....I laughed so hard when all that happened I pulled a muscle in my stomach & couldn't move for days. So anyway, my point is being a fakie is FUN for some people. Who cares anyway?

Re: who remembers the "bride" that used a Miss america pic?
i guess i didn't "know her" so I don't really get it. She never seemed like a big poster on the boards I'm on, notice my whooping # of posts.....maybe I'm not a good one to gauge how involved people are around here.
I don't really now what she did, but I guess alot of people are offended. I just don't know how any public board can really prevent this from happening. I'm not changing anything about the way I act or what I post here, I don't feel at risk at all.

Ok I must not be finding the thread that explains what really went down because I'm still not understanding the "hurt" or fear part....if somebody wants to fill me in that would be great. I can understand feeling betrayed or whatever if I befriended her on here(which I didn't) but I take all of my internet friendships with a grain of salt(with the exception of a few that are real life friendships) .

Re: who remembers the "bride" that used a Miss america pic?
I do remember that picture, it is exactly what I thought of when I firsst caught up on all of this. I also remember DebMaher and remember people being hurt when the truth about her came out. You almost always have to keep your guard up (at least to some degree_ on this site. Heck, I FM with the same people everyday and have been since before LIF and I have yet to meet them, for all I know it's the same sit.

wow Emily... that was pretty harsh. Phyl & I have already FMd but thanks for trying to make me look like I did something to Phyl. Unbunch your panties, its a PUBLIC forum & I can ask, comment & rant about anything *I* want. I never claimed it was "about me", just trying to understand how things got so nuts. I wasn't on alot the last few days & I didn't get the behind the scenes updates about what happened.....thanks though for being rude to me for no reason!

kelly, i don't know you nor have i ever had any problems w/ you but i have to agree w/ Em. not to sound harsh but since you "weren't on alot the last few days & I didn't get the behind the scenes updates about what happened" then how can you possibly justify the unfounded "comments and rants"?

You were rude to Phyl so I returned the favor.
I did not know you and Phyl worked it out untill after I posted this. Phyl told me but I had already come to her defense.
BTW It was my pleasure

Actually my first post was really a question, I then commented to Phyl's reply, which by the way I certainly don't think that reply was offensive. I didn't rant, but I was saying to Emily AKA Phyl's bodyguard that I CAN say just about anything I want...so can anyone else....there was NOTHING mean spirited about my OP & anyone that can't see that has spent too much time riding the drama bus the last few days. You can't expect people that missed what was apparently a very traumatic event to log on & see 4 or 5 other posts about this topic & not want to "talk" about it. I'm pretty sure if it was not appropriate Ron would have locked every post mentioning it. Again, Phyl contacted me personally, she told me her issue with it & that is it. My post WAS not intended to "hurt" anyone(I don't think I've ever even "talked" to Phyl before) or to throw salt in a wound I CLEARLY was unaware of, it was just a discussion about fake posters. So everyone needs to get off my azz, Phyl is a big girl & I get why she's upset. I still say, as I'm entitled to....this is a public forum & this stuff happens!!!!

You are entitled to your opinion just as I am entitled to mine. We are never going to agree so we might as well let bygones be bygones. I know Phyl can defend herself but she is my friend and I am more than willing to defend her, anytime and anyplace. I am positive she would do the same for me. Say what you will but that is what I call a great friendship!
