Who rented a doppler?
I really want to, dh doesn't want me to. My brother is an OB and he told me not to because I will drive myself nuts.
But I still want one.....

Re: Who rented a doppler?
my one friend did, another did not....we haven't (yet) because we don't have the money. I'd rather spend the $25 a month on something I'll need for the baby once she's here

I did and didn't really use it when after I could feel the baby kick.

Re: Who rented a doppler?
I was advised not to and now that I feel the baby kick I doubt I would use it very much.

Re: Who rented a doppler?
I had gotten one and sent it back after a few weeks..it worked great but I wasn't using it very often and you end up hearing the heartbeat at the docters office every month anyway..

I LOVED having the doppler!! Everyone told me not to rent it...but Im so glad I did... I was such a relief to have and it was great bonding DH and I did everynight before we went to bed... Once I started feeling the baby move all the time I packed it up (and now we are returning it)
I do suggest going on a month to month plan, because after the baby starts moving you will no longer need it...
Totally worth it to me!!!!!! I will do it with my next pregnancy's and its worth every penny!

Re: Who rented a doppler?
I have one and I love it. I am always nervous so for me hearing the heartbeat whenever I want is very nice and reassuring.
The only problem was, I rented it too early and it was hard in the beginning to find the heartbeat. Now I can usually find it right away.

Re: Who rented a doppler?
I did from about 10 weeks on until about 23-24 weeks.
I have no regrets renting one. I absolutely loved it. It was great earlier on because I worried so much about everything being ok, that I used it before work, after work and before bed. I loved listening to the heartbeat. There were a couple of times that it took a while to find the heartbeat but I always found it with no problem. You learn where the baby is laying and then can find it pretty quick after that. I'll definitely rent another one with the next baby too. IMO it's definitely worth it.
My DH thought I didn't need it, but for my own sanity and fun I rented it for 3-4 months.

Re: Who rented a doppler?
I rented the doppler. In fact, I still have to return it. I got it mainly because of the cholestasis. I was worried about losing him, so it was reassuring be able to hear him whenever I wanted. Even though he moved quite a bit, if there was ever a day where he wasn't moving very much or I just wanted to hear it anyway, it was nice that I was able to.

Re: Who rented a doppler?
I rented one right up intil the end- it was the best thing ever- Im a nervous nellie and it calmed me everytime and it was so easy to find the heartbeat. Even after he started moving alot I kept it because towards the end I started using it again when the baby would slow down when he was getting big. It really helped me alot. I will rent it again for my next baby.

I rented it when I was about 12-13 weeks. Now I am 22 weeks and can find it much easier. I rented it from baby beats. I wanted it so fast that I took the over night shipping and when I got it I could not find the heartbeat so I called the docs office and they had me come in. They also told me that is why they do not recommend women getting these dopplers. Now I enjoy having it at home.

Re: Who rented a doppler?
For those of you who have rented the doppler, did you get the one with the read out of the actual heartbeat? I have the regular one and was thinking of upgrading! Wanted to hear opinions.
