Who wants to check out my DS' beautiful head?
So some of you might remember that I posted that my son needed a DOC band (helmet). He had plagiocephaly (mishaped head) and brachycephaly (head was too wide). I was initially devastated, but soon realized that in the grand scheme of things, this is a minor, FIXABLE thing and I decided to make the most of it.
I want to give thanks to two lovely LIFers - the first is LoveMySMT09 for posting her DD's before and after pics. She, too, had a DOC band and her "before" pics made me realize that I was NOT going crazy and that something was indeed wrong with my DS's head. She pointed me in the right direction to where to go to get an evaluation, and I am so thankful!
The second is the lovely Ang-Rich. Ang was SO gracious to make the design I had in my head come to life so that it could be put onto DS' DOC band. I did not want the plain white band and unfortunately the DOC bands do not come with design options (unlike STARbands). Ang was so kind to offer her help and to be patient with me when I made changes etc. She designed it perfectly! The company that put the design on the DOC band actually messed it up, but in the end it was ok. THANK YOU ANG!
I initially did NOT want to post about this, I was almost embarrased in a way, but more than that, I didn't want anyone to look at my DS differently or like something was WRONG with him. I decided to post about it because LoveMySMT09's post helped me and I was hoping my post might be able to help someone else in the future. Well, since I posted about DS needing a helmet, a few LIFers have reached out to me because their DC needed or possibly needed one as well. I am happy to help with info in any way! And I'd also like to say that plagiocephaly is becoming more and more common these days, especially with the back to sleep campaign! Babies spend the majority of their first few months of life on their backs (in their cribs, bassinets, boucers, rockers, etc). If I may make one recommendation, please push tummy time with your babies FROM DAY 1. They may only last a few seconds at first, but aim to keep increasing the amount of time they spend on their bellies. By a few months old, if they can last 5 minutes, that's WONDERFUL. But even if it's just 2 minutes, keep it up. They will only become stronger and that will help them to reposition themselves and hopefully not lay only on their backs or on one side.
Anywho, I'll get off my  now 
So, here's DS with his DOC band at Christmas. His design has the Superman logo on the front and a flying Superman on the back. It says "SuperHenry"  across the front/side. Looked pretty dang cool, I think!

Below are his before and after shots. Obviously the left pics are before and the right are just this past Friday at his Graduation 
After we went to his "graduation" (they take new pictures, a new 3D image, and he got a graduation certificate), we went to Build A Bear and got him a stuffed puppy to put his DOC band on :) So it's a way to "display" it, but also a cute reminder of having worn it, etc.

OMG Yesi, what a beautiful post
This will help a LOT of new mommies, I just know it. And omg the design, I LOVE it, and I adore the build a bear idea, that is phenomenal. You are just amazing and I admit, I stalk Henry posts

Seriously, the superman band is AWSOME! great job designing it...and your son is just as adorable as a little boy can be. Those eyes, lips, cheeks, and now perfectly round head...beautiful. COngrats on teh graduation!
