Who wants to meet for Happy Hour on Monday 4/21? (Please help suggest bars)
Here's what we are looking for (we, as in mommies on the parenting board, but anybody needing time away should come.)
(Okay, I say 'we', but I initiated this. I have had a crappy couple of months and am looking to get out and meet other people, so I'm dragging others out with me and DH can watch DS!!!!!!!!)
Anyway, looking for a place that:
-Is along the LIRR, or can be a short cab ride from the LIRR
-Isn't too crowded during happy hour (enough to find at least a few seats, even if not for everyone at all times because we can rotate.)
-Not crazy enough that we have to scream to talk
-Need food to eat
-If it has a TV for sports, bonus!
Some have suggested Huntington Station as a few bars are around there. Looking at the LIRR maps, I was wondering if Hicksville had anything of interest as it lays along a few LIRR lines.

The Main Event in Plainview. You can take the train to Syosset or Hicksville. It's on Old Country Rd. One of my fav spots. Big TVs everywhere..room to sit and really good food.

Actually, BK Sweeneys in Bethpage might be a good choice. It's a short walk from the train, good food, good bar.....
Plus, if anyone wants to drive it's right off the SOB (135).
There aren't any decent bars in walking distance of the Hicksville train station, most are dives.

Hemingways on Wantagh Ave..take the Wantagh train and walk 2 blocks.
