Who will be renting a doppler????
I want to but not sure if it will be a waste. Its only like $30 a month and you can return it at any time.
What do you think?

Re: Who will be renting a doppler????
I loved mine so much I bought it so I would say yes, it is worth it. I bled at 12 weeks with Jeremy and at 2AM I was listening to his HB so I knew he was ok.

Re: Who will be renting a doppler????
I highly recommend it. I rented a doppler and for me, it was the best investment I made during this pregnancy.. After having a miscarriage last year at 12 weeks, I was a wreck this pregnancy. I just needed the reassurance of hearing a heartbeat whenever I got freaked out for no reason ..
Now that I'm feel the baby move I dont use it as often, but I still have my doppler and I love hearing the heartbeat every few days - its the greatest sound in the world!

I didn't rent one. I knew I would drive myself crazy if I couldn't find the HB when I tried.

I rented one and it was the best thing for me. So re-assuring. Just know it the very beginning you need patience when looking for the hb.

Re: Who will be renting a doppler????
I also rented one with both PG's. I still have it now. I hardly use it because I can feel the baby now, but I had a lot of bleeding in the 1st trimester with both PG's so it was soooo reassuring for me to have. I was able to find and hear the heartbeat at 8w5d this PG so that made me feel so much better.
One suggestion is that if you don't find the heartbeat right away, or it's taking a little while, stop and try again a couple of hours later. I had to do this a few times. It's better than worrying and driving yourself crazy. The baby is just little in the beginning and moves around a lot so it's harder to find. If you do that, you won't worry and you'll enjoy the rental!
That reminds me that I have to return it!!! I was going to a couple of months ago, but I still like to use it here and there!

Re: Who will be renting a doppler????
I rented one, and unfortunately I did am not getting as much use out of it as I thought. But, I think that's because in the beginning DH and I would get frustrated when we couldn't find the HB (because in the beginning it is a little difficult to locate.)

Re: Who will be renting a doppler????
I have one and love it! As long as you are at least 11 weeks or so, you should have no problem locating the heartbeat within a few minutes. It is the best thing I've done, because I was worried since my miscarriage. I planned to rent it for 2 months, but in my 5th month now...I still have it! It's so reassuring inbetween appointments.

Re: Who will be renting a doppler????
I rented one and I am returning it because it causes me too much stress and anxiety. Before renting it I would only get anxious during Drs appointments now I get anxious all the time. It depends on the individual - I suffer from anxiety - I am sure people who don't have anxiety would handle it better...
