Whomever finds the 1st tooth has to buy the baby's 1st pair of walking shoes?
Did anyone hear of this before? A few family members told me but I didnt know. I guess its like you give a penny to whoever buys you knives for your bridal shower  . Well I hope this is true bc walking shoes are  !!

This is something people say, but it isn't a "rule" or anything. My mom did buy his first shoes and actually did find his first tooth, but that wasn't on purpose

My parents told me this too - never heard of it before ..........they bought the shoes, even though technically, my sister found his tooth ........
Hey, at least YOUR MIL shops .......mine has bought ZERO in 14 months !!

yes -- it's an Italian thing as far as I know!
My DH's cousin told me. Lucky for us bc I found her first tooth, and had already bought her first pair of shoes

YES whomever finds the first tooth does buy the shoes....and in my case MIL found the first tooth on all the kids

ahh the grass is always greener...
it can sometimes be too much, plus I live next door to them...I should be grateful for all of their "help", but I do sometimes wonder what it would be like if I didn't see them for a while
