WhooHooo... we just refinanced!!!
long story short, we used to have an adj. rate neg amortization loan (horrible, i know)...we were able to refi to a 30 yr fixed fha loan at 6.5% last july.
well today we have refi'd again to a 4.875% 30 year fixed loan, with virtually no closing costs!! Bank of america ate all of the closing costs! they had originally told us it would be about $10 k, but they somehow worked it so that we had to pay only $1000. we just signed all of the papers.
i am so happy to have this all over. now we can use that money towards our debt!!

We just refi'd at 4.875 also!!!
But we are paying $3800 at closing... You are lucky to get such a sweet deal!!!

Thats awesome....how did you get them to eat almost all of the closing costs? As soon as my second floor is done....we plan to refi too.

you need to share who you worked with.
I need this info..been thinking about it for months.
I want to pull some equity out and do some work on the house and refinancing is just so expensive. My chase banker quoted over $8K in closing!

Do you mind telling me who you refinanced with? My current mortgage is with Bank of Ameria so I went through them to refinance. They told me my closing costs were going to be about $5000 and I just got a GFE for double that

WOW. That's going to be a great saving! Especially since your closing cost is so low, that's even better to recoup the cost.
