Yup, DH did. I was surprised at how skinny the cord was! I always pictured it being like a garden hose.

i had two csections. dh was never given the option to cut it. but that has me thinking. i wonder if he would have.  ,ill have to ask him tonight. im curious.

No, DH wanted to and we planned on it, but I had a c-section and there was trouble at the end when he would have done it. They couldn't stop my bleeding and he didn't want to leave my side. We both were freaked out.

Yep, he cut it. He was actually going to catch the baby, but Asher had his cord around the neck so the midwife had to deliver him.

Same here. They never asked and I was so out of it I didn't even notice that til after. I think he probably would've wanted to.

My DH cut both my children's cords. But my first had the cord wrapped around his neck so the doctor cut it then they took him to the warmer and they let DH cut it shorter, lol.

Same here. That was my only negative in St Catherines.
Really??? I had Dr. Murphy and my husband cut the cord. Maybe it depended on the doctor who performed the birth?

I know this will probably get lost in this thread, but I was reading through the responses and was curious???
If you had a c/s, were you not given the option to have DH cut the cord? I had Andrew via c/s and my doc let him cut the cord. Of course I couldn't see anything over the sheet, but I know he did... I remember him telling me he saw a little too much that day.

So he didn't.
Just curious how many DHs did do it.
DH said the same thing.

Yup my very squeamish DH cut the cord.. he was sooo into the experience once I went into labor. And yes, I was totally shocked and amazed at how awesome he was during my labor.. since up until that moment he couldn't even look at a birth or lamaze video without nearly  and passing out
