Why????
Can't people stop saying their kids are xx months. Up to a year and even to 18 months is fine. After that, no. Just stop.
Me: Oh your baby is so cute how old is he- You: Oh thank you He's 23 months
Me: Oh your baby is so cute how old is he- You: Oh thank you hes 27 months.
Yeah no. You have a 2 year old. Both of you.
So. Annoying.

Re: Why????
OMG, this made laugh so much! I don't really get annoyed when people do it, but I think it's so much easier to say the whole number instead of counting the months. I couldn't keep track.

Re: Why????
23 months doesn't bother me as much, but I personally would have said, "He will be 2 next month."
What really gets me is I've been hearing people lately say, "He's 32 months old." If I have to get out my calculator to figure out how old he is, then you shouldn't be saying it!
Also drives me nuts with weeks. "Baby is 38 weeks old." Um, what? I have no idea what that means, and that means I'm now probably sorry I even asked!

Why????
After 2 is my cutoff. My reasoning is that there's still a big difference between 12 months and 18 months and between 18 months and 2 years. After 2, there isn't as much change.
I stop counting weeks somewhere around 12-15 weeks.

Completely reasonable. I feel 18 months should be the cutoff lol.

Re: Why????
This is too funny. DD is obsessed with ages for some reason and wanted to be "older" than us so we told her she is older in months vs. our years. So she loves to tell everyone she is 50-odd months and older than mommy and daddy's years.
But yeah, I agree once they hit 2 it's years.

Why????
I think 2 is the cutoff. I often say that my boys are 20 months apart but it's usually preceded by me saying that they are only one grade apart and people being confused by that, so I feel like when I say they are 20 months apart it makes people understand that concept.

If you said that to me I would stand there confused for a good two minutes trying to calculate how old they are....in years

Re: Why????
Totally agree. Especially with number two. I stopped counting weeks after prob 6 weeks. She's almost five months and I'm not counting how many weeks that equates to!

Re: Why????
I think up to 2 years old saying the months is ok. But after that it should be 2, 2.5, 3 etc

Re: Why????
My limit is 23 months, but when talking to most people I will say "a year and a half", "almost two years", etc. I only tend to use months when I'm talking about developmental milestones because there is still a huge difference between 15 months and 21 months, even though both technically are "1 yr old".
