Why are the changing pads so small

Maybe I am the only one, but I get so annoyed that most the the changings pads I can find are so small that it barely covers my DD's back when I am changing her on a public changing station. Can anyone rec theirs? My DD isn't huge but she is big for her age (7.5 months).

Re: Why are the changing pads so small

When DD was little I would buy underpads. They are disposable (a major plus if she peed/pooped on it while we were out!), the size of the changing station and are slightly padded b/c of the absorbant material. They did the trick.

The pampers cruisers are so absorbant that it's rare she needs to be changed when we're out and about these days (17 months), but I keep one in the car just incase.

Carters makes disposible ones, the Bassinet pad is pretty large it covers DSs entire home changing pad. And its washable.

I was grossed out by public changing pads and had the same problem until I found these.

I would take them when I was out and just throw them away. It was GREAT!!!

Here is a link (just an example, I did't get them from here).

You can find them at any medical store.
