why did I leave my last job? (long)

I was at my job for 7 months & it was full of long stressful hours since the very begining. DH & I want to have a baby next year & I realized that I could never have a job that requires so much overtime as this one did as well as take care of a family so I gave my notice. I was a production coordinator at a fashion company.
Anyway, this is my first day unemployed and want to begin my job search this week. The thing is that I decided that I want an admin job or clearical/ data entry type job.
How do I answer questions like "Why did you decide to leave the fashion industry? Why are you looking for an admin position?
I have been racking my brain & the last thing that I want is to come off as lazy.. I just want a normal work/home life balance & don't really know how to express that.

I am on the same boat as you. I decided after long decision to leave where i was and yesterday was my first day of not working. I left because what i was doing was not for me. It was a totally different industry than i was doing before. I decided to go back to what I loved to do. What i am going to tell employers if they asked why i left is that it was not me and I want to go back to the Accounting/Clerical area.

For what you can say is that you want the challenge to go onto better things and are willing to try something new and different. Just that what you had before just wasn't for you. Hope that helped an good luck in your search.

Well i just started a new job on monday. When i was asked why i was leaving my old job i told them i needed better oppourtunity. I could not see myself where i was in 5 years and that there was no room for growth and no future at that company. Which was true. But you can always say you need something with better growth potential.
