Why do I feel so guilty??
So I had to take off of work because my mom is in the hospital in NY, I live in VA. I took a half day Thursday then took Friday, Monday and Tuesday. My mom is scheduled for surgery tomorrow so depending how it goes, I may need more days. Unfortuately when I left, I was only planning on being out Friday and returning Monday, so I didn't have any plans ready. I e-mailed my teammates, some generic plans, but they are going to have to put everything together for me, why do I feel so bad....Now I am starting to stress what the parents are going to think!!! I know its none of their business and I have ample amount of sick time to use....this is when I hate being a teacher......

Family comes first, your colleagues and parents will understand that. You would do the same for them. Concentrate on being there for your mom!
