Why do new construction homes have carpeted bathrooms?
Just something I've noticed, mostly in new construction outside NYC.
Linoleum is generally cheaper than carpet- so why do it?

Decades ago, carpeting was considered high-end, so EVERYTHING was carpeted. Kitchens, bathrooms, etc. I thought that bad idea went away a long time ago.....

me either, except in my sister's boyfriends bathroom, he has carpet.
I've never seen carpet in bathrooms in new construction.

no way..hate carpet in bathrooms. I have a carpet mat for getting out of the shower but that gets washed once a week.

Ewwwww..I personally have never seen that ..that sounds like a throwback from the 50's
we have new construction here on LI and thats not even an option..tile floors is what you get

I built my house and my builder don't offer carpet in the bathrooms, but they do put the carpet in the foyer  which is the reason why I had to upgrade a lot in my house
