why do websites/books etc. make it seem so easy and a matter of fact?
Maybe I'm just not good at it yet I don't know.....but it pi$$es me off that all these authors/writers etc. explain learning the "different cries" of your baby like its something that comes easy and that once you learn life is beautiful....only thing is what if you never learn?.....life $ucks then?....what if your baby is colic etc.and cries constantly? I actually read one article that said that the mother learns what the cries mean by two weeks and the father by three!!!!!!! ***** dh and I must really $uck at this parent thing then bc I might know a hungry cry but other than that I flyin by the seat of my pants when Kaylie has a clean diaper, just been fed, and is still crying

Calm down, take a deep breath and stop reading those things!!
I swear someone of those books and stuff do NOT help a new mom!!!
Parenting IS flying by the seat of your pants, you will get used to your own baby, but their are always variables. PLEASE do not worry if you don't know what cries mean what or whatever.

DD s almost 9 months and I really can't tell the difference between her cries. Whether she's hungry, dirty, wet, has gas she screams...there's really no variation to her cries.

I never knew. I just tried what made sense to me at the time. Mine never cried from a wet/dirty diaper. Mostly just hunger or gas, or just being difficult. If it was time for her to be hungry, I'd feed her, if not, I'd hold/rock her try burping or giving the binky. Come to think of it, I guess I did "get" her gas cry because it just sounded like she was in pain.
