Why does DH not understand.....(vent)

I am so mad at DH right now. The baby is coming in 3 months and we have talked about two major projects that need to be done to the house. He has been procrastinating on both. I woke up this morning paniced and stressed and tried talking ot him.

One of the projects is refinishing the basement. Last year he tore the basement apart. He knows that when the baby comes, I will need to work from home (my mom is coming and staying with us) Because of how our house is set up, the basement is the only place where I can set up an office. We had this discussion months ago. I need a place to work and do client calls without having our baby crying in the background. Today he says to me - you will have to deal with what we have. Why is he being so difficult? My income is the only income we have. He is in the process of building a financial based client business and will not be making any money until next year. I am so frustrated and stressed. I have no idea how to get this through his thick skull I've tried explaining, reasoning.......I'm about to go hire someone to do it. I know it will start a war but I am tired of him not understanding.

Maybe the quotes from contractors will be his motivation. Do you think he could be stressed about finances and hesitating to spend money on the renovations?

I would get quotes and show them , he needs to get a move on! I think he still feels like he has a lot of time, Men are different, they do things at the last minute

Definitely get quotes! His but will get going after he sees how much the quotes are.

My DH always tells friends who ask him to do work to get quotes and then come back to him.
