Why is it that? Just a vent!
Most places are looking for entry level employees? It seems like there is nothing else out there on a higher level!

Probably because of money. If you hire someone entry level, they might not have much experience so they'll get less money than someone with more experience.

Not only that, but often entry-level positions are the ones usually most in need.
Probably because there's such a high turnover due to things like low pay and sometimes difficult work.

I had the opposite problem in my field, everyone was looking for experience and while I'm not entry level I dont have 5+ years yet.

Yes, because they don't want to pay. I have seen so many jobs offering $7-$8/hour!!!

Actually I am seeing this more and more in my field. A lot of MSW grads are competing for Bachelor level positions. I think a lot of it has to do with funding cuts and less time available to supervise staff.
A lot of the problems being dealt with require a higher level of experience + education, yet, the pay often remains in the "starting out" range.
Salaries are also a lot worse on LI.

I've seen a lot of it too, yet the work they list is not entry level. I swear they list it that way just so they can pay you entry level

I know! I agree totally.
I saw recently an ad for a Senior Level Executive Admin Assistant they were offering $32k? That is not an entry level job. Are you kidding me?
I was making WAY more than that before I was laid off. It really is so discouraging. I still can't find work. At this point, I may HAVE to look into an entry level position just to take something. Even that is a daunting task. If you want to apply at lowes, petsmart and costco, I have gone in person and they will direct me to their websites.
The websites have 85 questions for entry level positions.. You would think I was applying for a job at NASA.

Hey i'll take them! I just want a full time job! It seems like everything is part time, and even at low pay (what I am currently making) a full time job would be suuuuch a step up!!!
