Why wont she fall asleep in her crib?

This is so frustrating. Sara will not fall asleep anywhere but my bed. Sara likes to call it mommy's moon. If I put her in her crib she is relentless with the screaming. I should add that Sara has a nodule on her vocal cords so we have to minimize the screaming.

SHe just fell asleep now in my bed and it is 10: 45. I just dont know what to do. Oh I take it back she is talking to her dolls right now Chat Icon . I wonder if I should tell the babysitter to cut her naps short.

If she doesn not want to go to sleep in her crib do you think I should just get her a big girl bed? At least I can lay with her in her own bed.

Any suggestions would be great. Sara is 2 years old by the way

Re: Why wont she fall asleep in her crib?

I have been going through this for the past couple of months.

Ali wants NO part of her crib at bedtime.
I used to be able to bring her upstairs, kiss her goodnight and put her in the crib, walk out, shut her door and never hear a peep out of her.

All of a sudden, she got sick and that all went out of the window.

Well, what seems to be working for us lately is (and I am not sure if it is the right thing) but after she gets her pj's on, she no longer wants to go downstairs (she used to come downstairs sit on the couch and drink her milk). Well instead of going downstairs, she has been running to our bed asking to go in it. We give her, her sippy cup of milk she drinks it while watching TV. I let her watch it for no more than 15 minutes, and I turn it off. Most of the time, she is asleep by then, but if she isn't she rolls over and is asleep within 5 minutes.

I think she really needs to be close to someone to fall asleep, we don't know what happen, cause that was never the case with her before.
But you know what, it has been working for us, cause about 10 minutes after she is sleeping, we pick her up and put her in the crib, and don't hear a peep from her until the morning time.

She has been going to sleep by 8:30-9:00 (some nights earlier) and not getting up until 8:00-8:30 the next morning.

This was a big feat for us, cause she was up from anywhere from 9:30-11:00 lately.

Oh yea - I cut out her nap during the day - so no naps and she has been so much better.
I spoke to DH and we are going to look into a bed for her. Even though she is only 21 monhts, I think she is telling us she is ready.

Sorry this was soooooo long, I hope I helped
