Wierd story - did it happen for a reason?
Really strange!
Last night, around 8ish, DH and I were sitting by our next door neighbors just hanging out. There was like 7 of us just chillin outside. *Backround about my landlord and neighbors* My landlord lost her husband last February. Her son and daughter in law live next door and her other son, daughter in law and grandson live the next house down.
Ok, anyway, out of nowhere comes this bird...like a parrot you would buy at a pet store, not your normal bird. So my landlord decides to put pretzels on her shoulder and the bird swoops down and perches itself on her shoulder. We couldn't believe it. You don't just see birds like this flying around. So she went to get up and walk into her house to get some water and the bird just stayed there, pirched on her shoulder like it was her pet for years! So, my landlord is just a lover...she love everyone and everything. She decides to keep it, that is, unless the owner starts to look for it.
Her friend happened to have a bird that passed, so she got the cage from her. I mean, this could be the strangest story ever.
I go online and try to figure out what kind of bird this is. I come to find out it's a Peach Face Love Bird from Africa. A Love Bird is a form of a parrot, just not as big and can mimmick whistles and sounds.
She named in Big F, cause her late husbands name was Frank.
So...my point is, and my question is...was this a sign? Was this meant to be? Is this her late husband? Trust me, I don't believe in much like this...but this story.....WIERD.
Check out the picture of the bird. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Wierd story - did it happen for a reason?
It sounds to me like someone's pet got out, but if the thought of this bird encompassing her late husbands spirit brings her peace, I say run with it!!

Re: Wierd story - did it happen for a reason?
I have to be honest, I think it flew out of someones window too....but I think we should role with the fact that it's a sign or something from her late husband...it sounds better.
Still a really wierd story though

Re: Wierd story - did it happen for a reason?
This happened to people I know twice. First time, my Dad was sititng on our front porch and a parakeet just flew right into his hand and was very sick, so she must have been out for a while. No one was looking for her as far as we could tell, so we put her in the cage with my other parakeet. They fell in love. I had her for many years, and then when she died, my other parakeet died not long after.
Another time, my then boyfriend's parents had one fly onto them when they were in their backyard. They kept it for a while, fell in love with it, and then it flew away.
It probably flew out of someone's door, but if she feels peace thinking it is her late husband, I say go with it.

I understand thinking its a sign But what if it was your pet, that got out, maybe she should look for the owners.
I would be devastated if my dog got out and someone just kept him. and didnt try to look for the owner

are you kidding me with this? Is this why you didn't answer your phone last night?
That's the most bizarre story ever..lol and why does it have to be her late husband? I don't understand what about this story means it's a sign.. i'm not being synical, i just don't get it...That's like when my grandmother had a fly in her room for no joke like 8 weeks and woudl talk to it. She was convinced it was my grandfather...lol

Re: Wierd story - did it happen for a reason?
Years ago, a friend of mine had passed away. Her father always called her "his little butterfly." And her favorite color was purple.
A few days after she passed away, her father was in the garden and this purple butterfly came and sat on his shoulder for like 10 minutes. The butterfly wouldn't move. Just stayed on his shoulder.
I absolutely believe in signs like this.
Was there a connection between her late husband and parrots?

Re: Wierd story - did it happen for a reason?
Beautiful bird!!! I believe in these things, i feel theres a sign from loved ones from heaven. I dont necessarily think its her late DH in recarnation, but more of a sign from him, that he was thinking of her.

I swear this is true and yes, that's why I didn't answer my phone lol.
nothing about the story means it's a sign but the fact is...what normal bird flies around and winds up on a human's shoulder. birds are normally scared of people...even if they have food for them. so the fact of it flying down to her, well that's a little f'd up lol. so she immediately though, omg, it's frank.
WIERD!!!!

I agree. The same exact type of bird flew onto my neighbors shoulder about 10 years ago. We took her in and We had her for years until she passed away. They have great characters.

I have to agree - if that craigslist posting is not it, I would pout some signs up in the neighborhood.
If it's a sign for your landlord, what kind of sign is it for the family that lost the bird?
