Will I ever be able to relax and just enjoy?
I passed the first hurdle and my first beta looked fabulous.
But every since Thursday I've been worrying every second of the day about my next beta. I just cannot shake it and cannot distract myself. My head is just spinning in circles.
Will it ever get better?

I know how you feel but I worry about everything. I haven't been able to really relax since day one and now I am 23 weeks. You just have to think positive and believe things will work out!!

Re: Will I ever be able to relax and just enjoy?
I know how you feel. 4years of TTC and finally getting pregnant after my second FET.
In the beginning, It was tough but it does get better. It wasn't until the 2nd tri-mester is when I started to feel comfortable. With that said, it doesn't ever go away....just better.
Try to embrace your good news. I tried not to deny myself the happiness of being PG.

Usually towards the end of the 2nd trimester, there is a little less worry.

I wasn't able to relax until the second sono. I had one at 6 weeks and one at 7 weeks. But each milestone, 1st beta, 2nd beta, 1st sono, heartbeat, 2nd sono... etc... It got easier.
Congrats again. I am so happy for you.

Re: Will I ever be able to relax and just enjoy?
In the beginning when I was seeing an RE-- I felt ok, just because I was seeing a doc so often, and getting sonograms. I also sorta didn't let myself *believe* anything til I had mulltiple blood tests and sonos confirming a healthy pregnancy.
After that, I would always be good after a doc appt-- but, I would worry a lot leading up to ones.
Now, I still worry a little-- but because I can feel the baby move, I know that everything is ok. So, I let that comfort me.
I think the worrying never stops-- it just changes!

Will it ever get better? I think the first tri is the worst. Then it mellows a little in the second. I am a worrier by nature, and I definitely felt the most cautious in the first tri.

You summed it up perfectly! i am a wreck the days leading up to my appointments, then I am ok once they happen and then the whole cycle repeats its again! Everyone keeps telling me that I need to relax but it is sooo hard!

I totally agree - I don't think you ever really stop worrying, it is just a different kind of worrying. Just try to relax and enjoy.

Try to think positive, nothing is going to change by worrying yourself. I am guilty of being scared and worried too and I am 35 1/2 weeks pregnant now and still get nervous...but try to put any bad thoughts out of your head!

Beth -We've chatted about this before...I agree with juju. After going through the struggle to get pregnant, and after having experiencing loss/es, it's very hard in the beginning. But you will start to relax the further along you get. I'm just now in the past few weeks, really starting to enjoy and celebrate my pregnancy!

Re: Will I ever be able to relax and just enjoy?
Beth, it never goes away. My IF journey (as short as it may have been) made it VERY hard to enjoy my pregnancy the way I would have liked. Now that Abby is here, my fears have shifted to her care and whether or not I am always doing right by her. Lean on us. We are here for you.

Re: Will I ever be able to relax and just enjoy?
I'm ok mentally as long as I feel sick. I've never been so happy in my whole life to feel so sick! It's when the symptoms lax for a few hours, or a day, that's when I start to panic.
I'll try to relax. TRY!

Re: Will I ever be able to relax and just enjoy?
I understand how you feel. After having a m/c I feel like I just can't calm down & completely enjoy the pregnancy. I thought it would be better after the first trimester, and while the worrying has eased up a little, I still freak out all the time that something will go wrong.

I had no Symptoms whatsoever!!!! So you can imagine me being a nervous nelly! Don't focus too much on the symptoms.

I agree. It takes a while to settle into everything. If you are a worrier by nature, you may worry the whole time. There are so many tests but try not to let them get to you. After the 20 week sono you should be able to relax better.
Good luck.

Re: Will I ever be able to relax and just enjoy?
unfortunately probably not, especially if you had a previous loss. Some people will try to tell you don't worry about it but how can you not. Try to find people who will sit and listen to your worries without criticizing you.
Good luck!
