Will i traumatize my four year old son?
If he sees me pumping? I'm due with baby no. 2 in May and want to pump...is that weird, i mean he is obviously going to see me with this machine on my boobs!
Just a random thought.

My son is 2 and I pump in front of him, never thought twice about it. He was curious about at first, of course, so I explained it all to him. Now he barely even notices.

My ds turned 4 last month. I only just stopped nursing my dd around October/November. Ds thought nothing of it. He has seen pumping and nursing. I have nursed in front of my nephew who was 5 at the time and after explaining why the baby was on my breast he just said ok and moved on. Your ds will be fine 
ETA I will say I did catch my ds (at around 3) with my pump pretending he was "making milk" Dh did not find it funny so I just explained to ds that only mommy's make milk lol

my 4 yr old and 3 yr old had some questions in the begnning..I answered them truthfully and that was it...
but now they do their own thing..it is like second nature that mommy does it every day! They get over the initial "what the h e l l is that REAL fast" 
My ds even makes fun of it's sound...mommy's pump goes "whoosh whoosh whoosh!"

DS was 2 when I was pumping for the new baby and he thought it was the funniest thing, soon enough they don't even notice it anymore.

my 4 and 5 year old daughters see my nurse about 8 times a day and saw me pump a few times. I figure I am educating them on the benefits of breastfeeding
At 4 you can clearly explain that you are getting milk for the baby. He will understand. If thats how he is raised it will be "normal" to him. Just don't make it a big deal and I am sure after he asks a question or two he will get over his curiosity and move on.
