Will it look weird?
If I get a white bookcase, but the crib and dresser are cherry wood? Walls are green and I was thinking of lighten up the room with white shelves and a white bookcase.
Do you think I should stick with all cherry wood instead?

Not at all....I love mixing woods. I have all cherry furniture and a white bookshelf. It looks good. You can't go wrong with accents of white.

Personally I like all of the furniture in a room to match, but that's just my strange preference. I'm sure that it would look just fine to mix and match.

We have espresso furniture (crib, dresser, armoire) and we have a white bookcase in the corner. I love how it looks.

We have a white book case from Ikea, the crib is chestnut and the dresser is Thomasville from our guest room that is practically the same color as the crib.

I dont think it would look weird. Especially if you have white moulding in the room to compliment it.

IMO, I don't think it will look weird at all. We have all cherry furniture and we did the bottome half of the wall in white wainscotting and it looks great. Really brightens up the room and makes it look bigger.

I am pretty crazy and always want it to match..
My problem is I think I might want to go with cherry furniture but I have while mouldings.. lolz
I think just about anything goes..it all depends on your taste. I've seen pieces made of two colors before also.

personally...I really like all the furniture to match...
HOWEVER, we just finished our basement and did all cherry wood but the baseboards are white...and it looks great!!
