Will you baby be sharing their room?

I'm not talking with another person- but DH and I will be living in our apartment for another year starting in June. It is 2 bedroom, but right now the second bedroom serves as our computer room. It's a pretty big room, so i'm not concerned about space- it's just irking me that I can't use all of the space for the baby- and taking the computer out unfortunately isn't an option. We will need it, and there is nowhere else to put it beause that's where the jacks and cable things are.

Anyway- will your baby be "sharing" a room?

well our office/computer room is going to become the baby's room.

unfortunately that room isnt that big so we're going to come up with some idea as far as where to put the desktop computer

The baby is going in the spare room, which will stay as a guest room if we have visitors. We haven't quite decided if we'll move the crib out every time someone comes to visit, or if we'll just give the guests our bedroom and we'll sleep with the baby in the spare room.

Fortunately we have 4 bedrooms total in our house. My parents guest room (they live OOS) will now become the nursery. Our baby will be lucky to have his/her own room but now we have to double up either our gym or office to have a guest room for my parents.

My DH and I have been "sharing a room" with my 2 little ones for a very long time now. We have been renovating the house for 2 years now.
Eventully they will share a room together but for 2 years this is what it's been.

You do what you have to do....
there could be worse problems KWIM?

There is nothing wrong with ptting the baby in your room or in the computer room. It's just for now until you decide what you want to do in the future....

prob not,

we live in a 3 bedroom home, so our guest room will become babys room , and our 3 bedroom which is now our office, will become guestroom/ office. We will have to get a small computer desk

Until we get a bigger place the baby's room will still have my computer and treadmill in it.

we are currently trying to figure this out....

the room that is going to be 's is currently our computer room. while i have no issue with the computer going bye bye (i have my work laptop that we use 98% of the time)....Dave has a slight issue with not being able to go online when he's home and i'm not...

we MAY get a small corner unit desk for the baby's room - or we may move around some furniture in the living room - we're not really sure...

My DH wants to put a bed in the baby's room for guests.. it's not happening, but I'm not fighting him on it now...he'll see what a crazy idea that is when the baby comes.

We only have 2 bedrooms right now..upstairs has not been renovated yet so no room for guests until that happens.

we're in the same EXACT situation as you! we have a 2 bedroom apartment and the 2nd room serves as our computer room and theres a futon for guests who want to stay over. we're already trying to figure out where to put everything and we're limited with space as it is. ive decided im definitely going to leave the futon in the room in case there are rough nights for the baby that way i can just sleep in there if i have to. but we dont know where to put our computer desk. we're thinking of buying a smaller one and putting it in our bedroom cause our bedroom is a very good size. but then DH is concerned that we wont have space for the bassinet for the first 6 months. all i know is somethings gotta go! cause we cant keep adding furniture without taking things out.

Right now we have a two bedroom , and the second bedroom is our computer room, which is small so the computer would have to go.

We are also looking to move, so it depends on the lay-out of the new place.
We are also in the process of selling MIL's house ( she passed away) so once that house is sold , we are going to buy, so right now I don't know when we are moving or where

we have a 3 bedroom and the 3rd is currently the guest room / computer room

we plan to move the new baby into this 3rd room, and move the computer into our bedroom

we will no longer have room for overnight guests once we make this switch

We live in a 2 BR and right now the 2nd room is my office/guestroom (i work from home) if a perfect world we would move to a bigger place but it's just not smart...I would probably move my desk and put a trundle bed in the room (so that guests can sleep and when they aren't there it would be a smaller bed that I could use with the baby....We'd just have to try to make it work!

the baby's room is currently our computer/storage room, so there's a computer desk and a couch in there.

I think we're going to toss the computer desk, but there's really no place to put the loveseat. Hey, at least it matches the bedding I chose.

It's really not such a crazy idea - there may be nights where one of you is up with a crying baby and a bed is helpful if you need to crash. For us, we don't have an alternative - my parents live in a different country and I'd rather the minor inconvenience of having to sort out where the baby will go when they're here than them not be able to visit at all or have to stay in a hotel.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one struggling with the computer room - nursery switch over.


I believe my flat screen tv has a computer hook up. I'm hoping to move the computer to the living room and run it thru the tv.


The computer desk really has nowhere else to go, so I'm not sure what to do.

our apt is small and technically 2 BR however the spare BR is now the compter/game room/gym and there is just way too much stuff to move and nowhere to move it to. so yes for a while baby will be roomates with us. Until we can figure something out or get a bigger place

no, but we have 2 spare rooms...one of them is RIGHT next to us, so that's what will become the nursery....

the dogs may have their own opinion but no, our dogs sleep crated in our room, so they won't be sharing the room w/baby either....I bet they would try to though!
