Yesterday, I had cereal for breakfast.

DH grabs a bowl, pours cereal in...opens fridge and can't believe there's no milk...

I said there's 1/2 a gallon I just opened.

He says its skim and goes hungry.

why? is there that much of a difference?

It took me 3 years to go from whole to 1% with him. I feel your pain.

Dh likes whole milk and will only drink skim in an emergency. When he is in the mood to watch what he eats/drinks, he will settle for 2%

My DH is pretty adventurous! He actually drinks skim regularly... but will have soy (since I'm lactose intolerant) and has even tried Almond Milk!

The other day, DH asks if we could get 1% instead of our usual whole. I get it. Next day, he declares that whole is it...there is no other way. I agree. But I won't go hungry over it.

only wholemilk in this household! (then again, we don't eat cereal regularly, and never drink milk)

All DH drinks is skim.. but he's really good about eating too. He's got crazy will power that I def. dont have when it comes to food

I only drink whole milk and I will never drink skim - I will go without too.

At one point I was buying 2 gallons at a time, 2% for me and whole milk for him. Now with DS I am outnumbered so I buy and drink whole.

I think there's a HUGE difference.
I only drink skim, to me, whole milk is like drinking heavy cream -

DH thinks skim is like drinking milk flavored water .......he won't touch the stuff either - It's whole or nothing

Mine would stave first! But I'm not a fan of skim either so it's never an issue. I usually have 2% in the house, but lately I've been buying whole milk.

He doesn't use milk for anything anyway, even in his cereal, he'll either eat it dry or literally put a drop of milk in it, which to me is the same as eating it dry

i grew up on 1 or 2 %, but now DH and i buy skim. i don't usually drink milk ( only use it in cereal or cooking or whatever) so to me i don't notice a difference. heart problems run in both our families, so i figure cut out a little fat where ever we can...

we only drink fat free/skim

Everything else tastes like syrup to us.

When my parents visit (whole milk peeps) they suck it up and take the skim

I used to drink fat free milk and buy 1% for DH. But now that I am pregnant we are drinking whole milk.

DH only drinks skim, at home. But he puts a splash of half/half in his coffee.

DH would drink the skim. We drink 1% on a regular basis. I HATE everything but 1%, but I would use skim on cereal in a pinch. DH on the other hand would do anything from skim to 2%...

Ya see - i USED to be like that...then my mom started buying Skim Plus - i liked it a lot.... Then, I moved in with dave and it's all over for me - i'm back to whole...but i can put up with Skim sometimes....

I was raised on Skim. DH at first REFUSEd to drink skm when we moved in together. it only took a few months before he started drinking it. He would be out of milk so have no choice but to use mine. Then he was like, okay this isn;t THAT bad. Little by little he started drinking it it all the time

Mine is totally fine with skim, but I drink it more than he does anyway (he only has it in his coffee). Skim never bothered me, when I was little I couldn't even taste the difference between skim and whole. Now whole milk is too heavy for me.

My Dh would probably just eat the cereal dry.

I'm ok with skim but prefer 2%. I don't like whole--it's too much like milk, which I don't really like!
DH likes whole, but is ok with 2%, so that's what we buy.

They didn't have 2% at the store last week, so he bought whole. My first thought would have been to by 1% or skim, but he would have gone to another store, before he did that!
