Williams Sonoma is closing its Smithaven Mall location.
I mean, I didn't buy many things but I loved to browse in there!

 Is anything on clearance? 
I know the William Sonoma Home store outlet in Riverhead is closing and becoming West Elm, but I didnt hear anything about their regular stores. I love Williams Sonoma

What?! I knew the Smithhaven mall one was closing, I didn't know the outlet was too! That stinks!

I was the same way.
I guess that was part of the problem.
It was a window shopping type of place.
I hate to hear about stores closing.

Oh No! I love stopping in there and getting free samples! The only thing I really every buy there are the mulling spices during Christmas, it is a very expensive store. I wonder what they will put there, it is in a prime location.

That's a bummer. I love their gadgets section. I bought a peach slicer over the summer and then ate nectarines every single day for 3 months. Seriously, buy one online - it's magical. No dealing with a slimy pit and you can slice one that's not quite ripe enough, put it in a tupperware and it ripens a bit during the day so it's delicious!!
I wonder if they'll put anything on clearance. I need new dish towels.

I have a $100 gift card to there, Acutally ive had it for 2 years now lol But the store is so expensive i cant find anything to buy that i need. Now im going to need to use it if they are closing...

I always liked to walk around the store but it's so expensive!! Unfortunately, other people feel the same way.
I always feel bad when a business goes under. That's jobs lossed and other business affected when a family is forced to reduce spending. I hope this recession ends soon.

I got the e-mail and I must admit that I was sad. I have purchased many gifts there for my mom and for dh. I always loved the set up. I guess it just wasn't doing well in that mall.

I'm pretty sure that one is staying open. DH bought me some Christmas gifts from the store at Smithhaven and they told him they were closing but the WW store was staying open.

It was fun to look around there but it definitely was very expensive. I guess people are more apt to go to Kohls or Bed Bath & Beyond and use coupons to buy similar products. I can see why it's closing.

I don't think so, a sign in the window said they were closing that location and to visit the one in Walt Whitman instead.

I went there today. A salesperson said absolutely not true. The store is closing, not opening anywhere new and the whole sales staff has been laid off...she looked like she was about to cry

No one that works in the store that is closing would know that they are doing this, especially if they are being laid off. It isn't happening immediately. I believe it would be some time before it opened.
For those who asked, I heard that there are a few possibilities as to stores going into Williams Sonoma. They are Reebok (blah!), Nike (could care less), Fossil (getting better) and Teavana ( pretty cool!)

DH and I love William Sonoma, and would buy things alot from the Smithaven mall store. I love just going in and looking around. I heard it was because the landlord wanted to charge three times the rent that they where paying.

There is no way they would do that. They closed their Roosevelt Field store, and just kept open the Walt Whitman store. So on that note, I am quite sure they would not add another one in nearby Smithhaven.
