Window guards?

We're moving the bedrooms to the second floor after finishing some construction. I'm nervous about the windows.

should I get window guards? some sort of safety lock?

I think the window guards would be the most efficient, but some are pretty ugly.

Re: Window guards?

How high are the windows? Do you have furniture that can be moved over to the window for them to stand on?I dont have window guards, but our windows are about 4 feet off the ground and we have no movable furniture or chairs in the room.
