Window Tinting
The builders told us about this, that alot of people tint their sunroom and great room windows so you can see out but no one can see in and then you don't need to cover the windows allowing everyone to see the beauty of them
anyone do this?

Re: Window Tinting
My parents did it in their house in Florida...and they are sorry they didn't do it for all the back windows!

Re: Window Tinting
my dad has this done a few years ago after the sun faded a custom sectional my stepmom bought. They have walls of glass that overlook the water on three floors, the tinting came out nice.

Re: Window Tinting
I had this done in a house for a client because it was a very large window in the foyer and at night everyone could see into their 2nd floor hallway, and they really didn't want to "cover it" so we did this. It was great for privacy, but they had a lot of issues with the reflection it caused on the outside durning the day, the birds would think it was outside not a window and fly into it often (at least 1x a day) and they would die and she would call me so upset about this. It was a really big problem. I don't know what the end result was, since I left that design firm but I know the client was happy with the privacy issues, just not the refelction causing the birds to die.

Re: Window Tinting
The home we're in contract on has tinted windows and it is honestly the first time I had ever seen or heard of it.
I'll let you know how we like it in a few months

Three floors of glass that overlook the water!!!!! This layout sounds breathtaking!

Re: Window Tinting
I'm really interested in this....The thought of covering up the windows in my sunroom doesn't make me happy. It defeats the purpose! But when I think "tint", I think of car tint....

Re: Window Tinting
My DH looked into this for our front bay window for privacy since we don't like window treatments. There are different tint shades and types.

you almost can't even tell that its there unless you get it dark (which is not usually standard) and it really is only noticable at night.. but at that point its dark out anyway.
