window treatment help
help! i hate decorating and need to figure out window treatments for our living room
here are 2 pics of our living room - it has a brick fireplace on one wall and the wall opposite that has sliding doors (which are not seen in the photos). since there was a brick fireplace and our furniture is brown, we are thinking about going with natural colors and possibly even reds (we like the look of brown & blues but not sure how well that would work)
please share ideas on what you would put on the windows on the wall, and what curtains for over the sliders? and would you put something up on the back door to cover those windows or keep it open?
should we go funky for the sliders - like this:
fun curtains
or keep it basic Image Attachment(s):

You can totally do a red blue brown color scheme in that room. I think the red drapes might be a little dark. If you like patterns I would go with a lighter background with a red Blue pattern. For the two windows behind the love seat maybe wooden shades with a valance for color? You could do panels but it looks like your radiator might be covered by anything long.

Re: window treatment help
I wouldn't do room darkeners for the sliders. We have sheers over our sliders, and panels on each side. It's not annoying to move them to access the backyard.
Pier 1 has really nice and funky curtains.
For the windows - I'd do the bamboo curtains, with a cornice. Either wood or fabric-covered.

Re: window treatment help
My friend has these in her den and they look like they'd match your room. I would get a shade to cover the top part of the door, it would creep me out to have it open all the time.
