Winter babies- coming home outfit
I'm due the beginning of Jan and starting to think about coming home outfits. I am a FTM and am completely clueless as to how to dress DD.
We are 10-15 mins from hospital. I was thinking of putting DD in a fleece sleep n play, and putting this Fleece jacket over it with a hat.
We also registered for the JJ cole carseat cover but if it's not that cold we will just use a blanket instead.
Do you think that is too much? Any other suggestions?

If you are using the JJ cole carseat cover, then I dont think you'll need the fleece jacket in addition to the fleece pajamas. You will need a hat though.
As long as the car is warmed up, the baby wont be exposed to the cold air for that long.
Newborns can not regulate their own body temperature, so you don't want to overdress them. Rule of thumb is one extra layer than you'd wear. Perhaps a onesie underneath the fleece pjs.

Re: Winter babies- coming home outfit
I have two winter babies. I used the bundle me and the babies were dressed in a onesie, feetie pjs, little mittens, and a hat

I would get a cotton onesie and put a sleep n play over that (two layers) then have a fleece blanket to put over the car seat in the car. The bundle me isn't supposed to be used while the car is in motion and the seat is snapped in. Also a cotton hat and you can put booties over the footies if you really want an extra layer. But the two layers, hat, and blanket should be enough. Just remember to take the blanket off in the car if the car is heated up.

Thanks for the suggestions. After I thought about it, I realized that would have been too many layers. I think I'll just go with a onesie with sleep and play over it, a hat, and the car seat cover (not the bundle me, the other one).

Thanks for asking this question - I've been obsessing about this even though January is so far away!
